But not everything that needs to be repaired is made of steel or aluminum.

Fiberglass repair is another part of what we do at ICS Collision Center. Our team works with fiberglass on boats and other specialty vehicles, repairing damaged areas and refinishing them to restore both appearance and function.

Would you look at this pickup and think it was totaled?

At first glance, the damage may not look severe enough to mean the end of a nearly new truck.

But what you see on the outside doesn't always tell the whole story.

When this Silverado was evaluated, the frame was found to be bent. The replacement component required to repair it properly was not available from the manufacturer. Without the correct part to complete the repair as required, this truck could not simply be straightened, patched up and sent back on the road.

For the owner, that's a tough outcome, especially for a vehicle only a few months old.

It's also an important example of why a safe and proper collision repair isn't determined by how repairable a vehicle looks from the outside. The damage, the manufacturer's repair requirements and the availability of the correct replacement components all matter.

The materials used, how structural components are joined, where sensors and electronics are located, and the repair procedures required by the manufacturer can vary by year, make and model.

There’s a lot more to matching your vehicle’s paint than finding the right paint code.

Take a look inside the paint mixing room at ICS Collision Center.

Those shelves of toners are part of what allows our team to create the color needed for a repair. Even vehicles with the same factory paint code can have variations in color, which is why achieving the right match takes more than simply looking up a number.

Proper refinishing requires the right materials, equipment, preparation and skill to make the repaired area blend with the rest of your vehicle.

Not every collision leaves a vehicle looking like it was in a major wreck.

Sometimes the damage looks fairly contained.

But what happened during the impact matters more than how dramatic the damage looks in a photo.
