🔧 Mechanic-Level Tip of the Day

Always check transmission fluid hot and idling (if the vehicle has a dipstick).
Checking it cold or with the engine off can give a false “low” reading, leading to overfilling—which causes foaming, delayed shifts, slipping, and overheating.

Pro tip mechanics use:
• Drive 10–15 minutes
• Park on level ground
• Engine idling, in Park or Neutral
• Cycle through all gears before checking

⚠️ Many newer vehicles are sealed and require checking fluid at a specific temperature range with a scan tool—guessing can destroy a transmission.
