Diesel Technician I & II:
We are hiring diesel technicians to join our team and have a need for a lead technician. If you have a passion for diesel maintenance and repair, are a solid mechanic, who sees the big picture, enjoys interfacing with customers and has high safety awareness, then we want you. Mechanics who thrive in our environment are self-starters, do not enjoy the shop environment, like working on a broad range of truck & equipment are adaptable, and have a positive “Can Do” attitude.
Our customers value scheduling work when their equipment is not operating. As a result, we can offer flexible work schedules. Individuals who like to start early, work late or like to work Saturdays so they can ski during the week, can be accommodated.
Requirements:
· 4 - 12 years plus of diesel truck, trailer and equipment experience
· Perform repairs, preventive maintenance and DOT inspections on variety of trailers and trucks including medium duty, class 4 thru 8 as well as specialty service vehicles.
· Specialized training of and experience diagnostic / trouble shooting of major components (Engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses, ASE and 608 & 609 preferred.
· Experience using tools of the trade including power tools and diagnostic equipment.
· Open and Close repair orders on company’s Job and operations mobile platform. Obtain parts from local vendors and manage inventory on the service truck.
· Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in timely fashion.
· Be a self-starter who likes to work independently in a team environment and maintains a high level of productivity and be able to work to most SRT times.
· Taking ownership of all aspects of customers' vehicle repair to provide customers with trusted services.
· Operate dedicated Service Truck in a safe manner.
Applicant Qualifications
· 4 years + of basic mechanical repair and inspection experience with diesel trucks and automotive preferred
· Valid driver’s license with no more than two (2) minor moving violations in last 3 years.
· High school diploma or GED required, vocational or technical certification preferred.
· The ability to solve problems and comfortable using dial indicators, presses and other specialty tools.
· Excellent customer service and communication skills.
· The ability to work well as part of a team.
· Basic computer skills
· Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
