ANOTHER COMMUNITY POLICING WIN

On July 6, 2022, District 4 Corporal Gathje responded to a report of a traffic crash. When he arrived on scene, he learned that one of the motorists involved in the crash is a single mother who had just obtained her vehicle, which was now inoperable. The corporal reached out to Outreach Case Coordinator (OCC) Villagrana to see if there was anything your Denver Police Department could do to help get the mom back on the road. Together, they spent hours contacting auto shops, researching pricing for repairs and looking for opportunities to partner with local mechanics. That's when they came across 303 Mobile Mechanics, who were more than happy to help. Free of charge, 303 Mobile Mechanics' owner arranged to have the vehicle towed to the shop and then donated the labor and some found parts to get the car up and running again. Using funds donated to the department by District 4 resident, Bruce Odette, the Department was able to cover the cost of the remaining parts needed to complete the repairs. Without the generosity of 303 Mobile Mechanics and Mr. Odette, or the tireless efforts of Corporal Gathje and OCC Villagrana, the cost to repair the vehicle would have neared $1,400, but instead it came at absolutely no cost to the mom.

Please join us in thanking 303 Mobile Mechanics, Bruce Odette, Corporal Gathje and OCC Villagrana for going above and beyond to help out a mom in need!
