Freedom Powersports began when the long-term General Manager of Family Powersports Weatherford and Family Powersports of Hurst Discount Outlet, Kevin Lackey, purchased both dealerships in July of 2012. After long consideration Mr. Lackey rebranded the dealerships as Freedom Powersports. Freedom is a word
typically listed while describing the emotions felt while riding a motorcycle; but more importantly, freedom is what we as Americans get to enjoy every day, because of the men and women who choose to fight for our country. With strong ties to the military and being passionate patriots, Mr. Lackey and the board members knew the name ‘Freedom Powersports’ would pack a powerful, deep-seated punch into the powersports industry. It only made sense to make the colors red, white & blue, in honor of our American flag we fly in front of all of our dealerships every day.
