Since you all have been asking... these are the tools I have been using for stuck chokes.
A STRONG word of caution...
You can deform the muzzle and you can break the vent rib or the solder joints.
The choke is SHOULD NO LONGER be used after this process.
1. Remove the front sight
2. Clamp the barrel tight using the blocks preferably over two or more vent rib supports. The vent rib will be facing up. You need to watch it during the whole process
Do not tighten the barrel clamps over the section of barrel where the choke tube is inserted.
When facing the muzzle cheat the vent rib to right-of-center in the blocks before tightening, if possible.
2. Apply heat. A heat gun is safest but if you use a torch heat the inside of the choke body. Do not overheat, use just enough to make it smoke.
3. Insert choke removal tool tight enough to grip but not tight enough to distort the muzzle.
4. Turn choke tool the left. Never spin it to the right as you will ruin the tool. I use a large crescent wrench (even backwards as some of you smart-butts have commented). Sometimes a breaker bar is required. DO NOT Torque the vent rib.
5. If it slips, remove it, reposition and and try again. If no joy, remove, re-heat and try again.
6. Once the threads are clear, you may have to grab the exosposed choke and knock it out. Brass punch and hammer works provided your tools is clamped tight the exposed choke.
7. Clean the threads inside the barrel and the entire choke tube area.
This works 98% of the time. In a few cases more measures are required.
