Remembering this ridiculousness..
Guy breaks a bolt off in my engine and tears it up, my jeep has to be towed to a shop, he blocks me and ignores me, then sends me some stupid letter referring to himself in the third person telling me to stop "creating a false negative narrative" about him when I complain online. What in the world lol..Nothing false about it.
You DID tear up my engine, this is America and I'm going to tell as many people as I can the truth about what you did and what kind of person you truly are! I also found the water pump bolt you broke off and left in my engine and didn't tell me about when I was changing the water pump again so maybe you need to cease and desist breaking bolts off in people's engines and then trying to hide it. Mistakes happen and are generally forgiveable..lies however are not.

Just a reminder if you're considering hiring Neil Boone based off of his Facebook business page you're not seeing the whole picture. The idea behind Facebook business pages is for someone to be able to promote their business, and for prospective customers to be able to decide to hire a business (or not) based off of objective data and customer experiences. He deletes and blocks negative reviews (notice there are ZERO)๐Ÿ™„

Remembering today when I picked up my vehicle from Neil Boone and when I asked why the harmonic balancer was spinning like a drunk ballerina and making a noise I was told he broke a bolt off in the camshaft and "didn't have the tools" to remove it. So he basically didn't fix my vehicle on his second attempt and made it worse, breaking something else in the process, and decided to let that be my (expensive) problem.
Horrible person.

03/11/2024

After finding another broken bolt when removing my water pump due to it springing a leak, a job I thought Neil Boone had completed successfully, I realize he broke another bolt (waterpump) and never told me about it.๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿคฌ This is in addition to breaking the bolt off in my crankshaft and trying to hide it with a decorative screw he forced in sideways.

As for Neil Boone telling others I am "just trying to get more money" out of him, well that's true:
Even though a mediator found in my favor after reviewing all of the evidence (including from other shop/dealership I had to pay for after he screwed it up) and rewarded me all of my money back for the two failed attempts and parts to repair my vehicle because he didn't repair it, he made it worse, my engine now makes an awful noise and leaks.
I'm not looking for betterment, or to make a profit. I simply want to be in the same position I was in before I brought my vehicle to him and he damaged it.
Don't trust this man.

Neil Boone can lie all he wants..these two pictures of his handiwork speak for themselves. Anyone doing things like this and not telling the customer is going to be found out sooner or later.
You can't go around breaking bolts off in people's engines and not saying anything.

I am not a representative for or affiliated with Neil Boone of Performance Mobile Mechanic LLC. I was a customer of his for a couple of years, and want to warn other people, so they do not end up spending lots of time and money like I have trying to correct the damages he caused to my vehicle. Our relationship ended when he broke a crankshaft bolt off in my block and tried to cover it up (with a wood screw ๐Ÿ™„). Recently, when replacing the water pump he also installed I realized he broke a waterpump bolt off and never told me about that, either. It was hidden by the pulley. He had put a big glob of grey RTV where he broke the bolt off in the block. You may very well think you had a good experience with him, but he is dishonest and instead of letting you know something went wrong he lies and covers it up. (I thought he only messed up on the timing chain replacement. Didnt realize he had also broken a water pump bolt off and put a glob of RTV there until the following year when it started to leak and I removed the pump he installed). Not an honest person, not a good mechanic. As I've said before, instead of standing behind his work, he hides behind it.
Anyhoo, in addition to having to pay someone to get the bolt he broke off in my crankshaft, I now have to pay someone to try and drill out the waterpump bolt he broke off in my engine. Since his two failed attempts at replacing my timing chain and breaking the waterpump bolt, my engine has leaked oil (timing cover gasket) and coolant (waterpump). The oil leak is getting worse and I know soon I'm looking at having that redone. No telling what we'll find but I'll be sure to post it here.

ANOTHER BROKEN BOLT?!
Water pump Neil Boone replaced about a year and a half ago leaking. Today I realized when pulling the pulley off to change it he broke a bolt head off and put a lot of RTV in that spot. Never told me. The pulley was hiding the broken bolt. Neil Boone, you are truly a dishonest POS. Look at all the grey RTV he put where he broke bolt. No wonder it was leaking.
Neil Boone breaks bolts off in engines and tries to hide it. He broke my crankshaft bolt off in block now I discover this. The fact you tried to fight me on getting my money back on the botched two attempts at replacing my timing chain and breaking my crankshaft bolt in the process, knowing you'd also broken this bolt off, the way you said nothing after both jobs and let me pay you and generously tip you the way I always did is a true testament to how big of a sneaky, dishonest POS you are. Your work speaks for itself. I wonder how many vehicles are driving around out there with bolts broken off in the engine. On Nextdoor app there's two mechanics (atleast) saying how they've had to go behind you and fix what you've broken. It's this kind of thing that gives mechanics a bad rap. The only service you're providing is giving other more competent mechanics work when they have to go fix your screw ups.

The claims administrator agreed Neil Boone shouldn't be paid for breaking my engine, and I shouldn't be out the parts I bought nor the labor costs I paid him for his two attempts which resulted in irreparable damage to my engine. I was refunded by my bank what I paid Neil Boone for his unsuccessful repair attempts. But my engine is still broken. Neil Boone keeps saying "he just wants more money from me". Yes , yes I do, because you broke my engine. You owe me an engine. You can't damage someone else's property, let alone destroy it, and not pay for it.

10/7/2023:

"Michael,
Customer states oil has been leaking for some time. The oil leak was small and has gotten worse. The leak customer is experiencing is coming from the timing chain cover above the oil filter. It appears the mechanic customer used (NEIL BOONE) did not prep the surface prior to also not using the proper amount of sealant when reinstalling the cover. There are places where there is new sealant on top of old sealant, and places where sealant is missing entirely. Also, customer mentioned the mechanic had to redo the job due to having trouble the first time. There are two lines on the gasket where the cover reseated and places where the gasket was separated which indicates mechanic just used the same gasket on second attempt instead of using the second new gasket customer claimed he provided. There is also damage (cracks) to the cover from over-torqueing when reinstalling. Recommend replacing with new timing cover and gasket.
CHRLYSLER Wrangler Timing Cover 3.8L V6 $1,168, gasket $28, plus labor."

Neil Boone would like everyone to believe the folks over at Deland Chrysler Jeep Dodge, along with THREE other shops/certified mechanics who ALL agree he caused irreparable damage to my engine, are all crisis actors in some sort of conspiracy against him. This is of course, not the case.

01/23/2023

Neil Boone believes if he causes irreparable damage to your engine while working on it, he should still be paid something for trying. He also believes you should be out the price of parts and fluids, almost $400 because you will have to buy them TWICE because it will take him two tries before he gives up and says he can't successfully replace your timing chain.
After it has been towed to the dealership and it is determined he has ruined your engine, (around $4,000 to replace), he will say you are "just trying to get more money out of him".
He will say you got back more from him than you paid because he thinks you should've been on the hook for the new parts you bought twice. There are consequences to hiring someone unqualified and uninsured to work on your vehicle.

01/09/2023

When you leave your vehicle with Neil Boone, in good faith, and he breaks a bolt off in the engine and you end up getting your vehicle back in WORSE condition than when you dropped it off, he will block you and ignore you. So when you then start complaining online with Facebook, Yelp, etc, the Better Business Bureau and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, he will type up and send you a cease and desist letter. This is the only thing you will get in writing when this man works on, and breaks, your vehicle. Ask him why. Ask him why he told me he has no insurance after breaking my engine then told the Better Business Bureau he did have insurance. Ask him.
Then take your vehicle to someone who knows what they're doing, doesn't delete negative reviews, has insurance, and is actually qualified to be working on your vehicle, and does the right thing if they break something and cause irreparable damage to your engine.

"My husband and I saved up and bought our daughter her first used car for a Christmas present this year. It needs a few minor things (new starter we think) and brake pads, nothing major. Was thinking of hiring performance mobile mechanics but I get the feelin with him something minor can turn into something major pretty quick so we are using the shop on Elkcam instead. It doesn't have the greatest reviews either, kind of a mixed bag but atleast they're letting the less than stellar reviews be posted alongside the good reviews and not deleting them...we are on a budget these are minor things we need and atleast they can't hide from us if something isn't done right or we have a problem and theyre insured and licensed.Thank you for sharing your experience sorry you went through that there are bad people everywhere be careful!"

DON'T WORRY! If Neil Boone breaks a bolt off in your engine (bolt on the left) and is unable to get it out, he will force a screw in at an angle (actual screw he used on right) to make it look like it's holding your harmonic balancer on. The screw won't be threaded in and this won't be safe at all but hey, you saved a few bucks by using him.

Don't hire Neil Boone of Performance Mobile Mechanic LLC to work on your vehicle. He's an incompetent liar. See his text message to me below telling me he "had no insurance to cover it" after breaking a bolt off in my engine and causing irreparable damage, then his response to the Better Business Bureau on the right telling them he didn't use his insurance because we "agreed upon" something. We agreed upon him giving some of my money back as he was unable to complete the job successfully after two attempts before I picked up my vehicle. I didn't know he had destroyed my engine until after it was towed in to the dealership. He is lying to the BBB implying we agreed upon an amount to replace my engine that he broke. Also literally NO ONE had worked on my jeep except HIM. We didn't and couldn't agree upon anything like he claims because after having to have my jeep towed to the dealership and texting him the text below he never responded he blocked me and ignored me lol. I hate liars.
Have someone who is licensed, insured and trustworthy work on your vehicle. This guy is incompetent and dishonest.

11/21/2022

Neil Boone has no sense of duty of care when your vehicle is in his possession and being worked on. If he breaks something and it is very expensive or beyond what he is capable of repairing he will tell you he "doesn't have the tools to fix that", say it broke but it wasn't his fault it broke ๐Ÿ™„, and walk away.
Hire someone else.
Hire ANYONE else.

Neil Boone saying the bolt broke but it was not his fault when he is the reason the harmonic balancer was wobbling in the first place, he removed and retorqued same bolt over and over again, and is the only person literally who had worked on my Jeep. ๐Ÿ™„ Hire someone who is licensed and qualified and has insurance. This guy is learning how to work on stuff as he goes, breaking it in the process. Also, if he's finally admitting to breaking the bolt off why didn't he tell me the minute he broke it or when I picked up my vehicle? Why did I have to ask why it wasn't running right before he reluctantly told me? What a POS. Truly.

"Well, I don't have a jeep wish I did, but did need the timing chain done on my truck. Was going to hire Performance Mobile Mechanic to do it but after learning what you went through I think I'll use someone else for the job. Saw he managed to get a timing chain done successfully after breaking your engine and he proudly posted the videos of a truck running before and after lol also noticed he had no before and after videos of your jeep engine runnin before and after LOL wonder why!?! Hope things get better for you"

This is easier said than done when someone else's negligence ends up destroying your engine and depreciating the value of your only vehicle, and they refuse to take responsibility for what they did. Until the score is settled with Neil Boone of Performance Mobile Mechanic LLC, this page will stay up, among other things.

He should definitely not be in business.

10/23/2022

What is truly stupid is that he admits to breaking the bolt off inside of my engine but I guess doesn't believe that is bad? Lol
Dude damaged the crank and the engine is thumping and knocking, because of what HE did, confirmed by FIVE different shops/certified mechanics, but he is such a bad mechanic he thinks it is normal to leave a broken off bolt in the engine and it will run the same as it did before?
IT DOESN'T

Do not hire Neil Boone Performance Mobile Mechanic LLC to work on your vehicle. He caused irreparable damage to mine and walked away, blocked me and ignored me. He is a bad mechanic and has no morals. He destroyed the value of my vehicle. He is such a bad mechanic in fact that he is saying I am "just trying to get more money out of him." He is soooo bad, he doesn't understand what his negligence is costing me. He had to redo his work sooo many times, torqueing and retorqueing the same bolt it finally broke. He wasn't even going to tell me it happened. He is deceptive, inexperienced and not qualified. He is too irresponsible to be running a business.
Hire someone who is licensed and insured.
