So...! I have a 4 post lift. It has worked flawlessly for the last 8+ years. I moved it to the Leland shop about a year ago.

I have not been in the shop for over a month. The 66 Mustang was on the lift to do a few final things on the underside, return fuel line for the fuel injection, routing power steering lines, a little touch up here and there. Usual stuff. Lowering it to remove the mustang and I hear some strange sound, kind of like breaking spaghetti slowly, then BANG! Scared the beegeebies out of me. I thought the Mustng was heading to the ground! I go look where the noise came from at the forward corner and I see the cable had jumped off a pulley and frayed badly...

I knew I have to replace the cable but, Mustang is still on it. And 4' up. Called it a day. Went down today and started planning how to lower and get the car off. Discovered both cables snapped in two. I am going to have to shore the bed of the lift up and slack the cables to r&r them or get 2 lift trucks 1 at each end of the bed, lift it to take the pressure off, remove the cables, then lower the bed to the ground. With the nearly completed '66 Mustang convertible on it.

Scarey stuff...

Good morning, all...! I have recovered sufficiently to head back to the shop. I have not done any work in well over a month so, I am looking forward to it!

Shop Truck is getting close. There is Lizard skin on both sides of the floor and firewall all the way up to the windshield and that is topped with Kilmat. Dash will be installed in the next day or so. Door panels should arrive today or tomorrow. Now it is time to order carpet. Probably going to go with a beige to match the interior and dash or, perhaps a dark brown will be better for foot wear and dirt.

Opinions on carpet source are welcomed.

And so it begins... Just getting all the parts together now. The next (and last) Blazer project.

85 2 door 2 wheel drive. Solid and rust free and solid floors. Rare for a 37 year old car. Lowered front and rear but, no matter. Have an uncut Explorer or, a C4 corvette rear differential. Need to get it on the lift to see the underside.

The plan is to start with a 2" body drop.

Power will come from a 2015 Camaro LFX/6L80. 55K miles on the combination
