Ok listen up everyone. It’s that time of year where you put your work boots on and hustle your booties on up to Lucky Thumb Motorcycle Club in beautiful Deford, Michigan to help with the spring clean up efforts.

This weekend, April 18th and 19th starting at 10:00am eastern standard time, we will be working on the grounds and hosting a clean up effort to get ready for the upcoming season. We had a great turn out last year so let’s make this one easy as well so come on out and lend a hand. Many hands make light work, as they say, so if you want to come hang out with some awesome folks and pick up sticks and whatnot, here’s your chance! There will be some crisp high fives being doled out and I heard there might be a food of some sort happening but I’m not entirely sure yet though. The high fives will be plentiful however, so make sure you are ready for them.

Ok picture this...an old man (or woman, gender equality and whatnot...sheesh) climbs the steps to the crows nest...sad, nostalgic music playing in the background...cobwebs in the corners of the room and dust on the surfaces as he (or she...) looks around the room with all the memories of years past racing through his (or her...this is getting annoying) head...tears start to form as he (OR SHE) walks over to the PA system and flips the power switch to on...

OK FLASH TO RACE NIGHT AND THERE IS SO MUCH NOISE FROM THE BIKES THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN HEAR YOURSELF THINK! THE EXCITEMENT AT THE LINE IS SO INTENSE, YOU CAN FEEL THE HEARTBEATS FROM THE RIDERS FOR MILES AWAY! THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN AND WE ARE OFF!!!!!

Ok so we aren't racing yet, I just wanted to get your attention to some quick things super fast in regards to camping at Lucky Thumb this season.

Camping - the cost to camp is $160 a year and $60 a weekend. If you have any questions about availability, please reach out to your not so friendly attendant, Jennifer Hosea Kitchenson (see image for contact info) and she will be more than happy to tell you anything you want to know. The deadline this year is May 1st, 2026 to make your reservations, and that is it. No exceptions and no extensions...May 1st. If you don't RSVP and get your spot on lockdown before then, it's game on. If she does not hear from you, you're done. Your spot that you have had for 79 years is gone. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read that over again...she is serious. Like, SUPER serious. IF YOU DO NOT RSVP YOUR SPOT BY MAY 1ST 2026, YOUR PREVIOUSLY RESERVED SPOT WILL BE UP FOR GRABS AND WILL BE SNATCHED UP BY SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN WAITING THEIR WHOLE LIFE TO CAMP HERE.

Ok ok, calm down, it's only Wednesday but it's totally ok to start getting excited now. Hell, I'm actually wearing my helmet and gloves as I am typing this. Alright listen up, here is what you need to know for this weekend:

Friday, September 12th - TT 3/5/7 (standard schedule)

FOR FRIDAY ONLY, IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO MAKE IT BY 5 AND NEED TO SIGN UP, PLEASE SEND A MESSAGE TO THE LUCKY THUMB FACEBOOK PAGE AND WE WILL GET YOU SIGNED UP. Please include the following:

Rider Name
Rider Number
Each Class they are signing up for

You will still need to stop and sign waivers, pay, give hugs and kisses, etc. We understand Friday is sometimes a scramble for folks with school and work so we are keeping sign up open until 5pm Eastern Standard Time. If you cannot make it by then, please re-read this section.

Saturday, September 13th - Short Track 3/5/7 (standard)

Short track baby. It's been voted on by all the experts as the most exciting thing in the world since electricity was discovered. Don't argue, the experts have all agreed.

As a reminder, State Championship Racing is a few more sheckles than usual so $45 per class and $55 for combos so make sure to check the lint trap on your dryer to make sure you come prepared.

Lastly, and most importantly, lets have a fun and safe weekend ok? I mean, that would be pretty cool, right? Everyone is here for the same reason so why not just have a good time and enjoy the glorious atmosphere. Please be sure to read our previous post on pit-riding so that everyone can be safe. Stop by the SWUT (swag-hut) and get your Lucky Thumb Motorcycle Club Merch so you can be the envy of everyone at the bingo tables. As a reminder, AMA prohibits the use of most pit vehicles. Motorized pit vehicles on the approved list may only be operated by those 18 and over. Please see the list below. This applies to the whole weekend, not just during the races. Please plan accordingly.

It is with sincere regret that we announce the races scheduled for August 15th and 16th will not be taking place as planned.

After careful consideration and discussions between the Lucky Thumb Motorcycle Club and the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA), we have determined that, in the best interest of our riders, members, and the long-term success of our events, it is necessary to cancel these race dates.

We value the safety, experience, and enjoyment of our riders above all else, and we believe this pause will allow us to regroup, review our operations, and make positive changes for the future of our club and events.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and truly appreciate your understanding and continued support.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back for our State Championship races on September 12th and 13th. We are committed to making it our best event yet.

Ok so its Friday so that means what? If you don't understand the meme below then you are too young and need to just keep reading. Where my 80's kids at?

Heads up everyone, it's racing weekend time. Today, Friday the 8th, 3/5/7 for TT and then tomorrow, Saturday the 9th is going to be a hot and sweaty Short Trackstravaganza so get ready for some incredible racing this weekend. It's going to be a scorcher so make sure you keep yourselves hydrated (water first then "whatever") and let's get to racing! Short and sweet for today, see you all sooooooon! okloveyoubye.

Ok people, listen up. It's race time. So you know what that means? Well...that it's race time.

ANYWAY - get all your excitements and happys going because we are going to have so much flat tracking goodness going on this weekend, you are going to have to call in sick on Monday because you can't stop smiling. Or coughing up dirt wads, either way you gonna call in.

The details are in my previous post, but just for funsies I'm going to go ahead and throw them up here as well.

Friday, August 8th - Same schedule as normal for TT: Sign up starts at 3pm Eastern Standard Time, Practice starts at 5pm Eastern Standard Time, and then Heats go live at 7pm Eastern Standard Time.

Just in case you didn't get enough on Friday, guess what? Saturday is going to be nuts. NUTS! SO FRIKKIN NUTS!!

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!

As soon as all of those ST races are complete, we are going to do some quick track prep and then ohhhhhh man, hold onto your britches because we are going to jump right into the heats and mains for the regularly scheduled event. We are not going to be doing a practice for the second half of the ST races, and will be getting the heats going right away.

If this is unclear, please see below for the most transparent and descriptive description that I feel like I can provide.

Saturday, August 9th - Short Track
Sign up: 12pm
Practice: 2pm
Heats: 4pm then Mains right after all the heats

BREAK FOR TRACK PREP
