esign automatically positions the SureSeal® the correct operating distance from the stern tube. The SureSeal® design incorporates a removable front cap, which improves access to the lip seal. A worn lip seal can be replaced, even while the vessel is in the water. The Tides Marine Sail Track & Slide System is a high performance, low friction mainsail luff track and slide system built to handle the
increased loads and demands of today's full or partially battened, large roach and high aspect mainsails. Tides is also a leading supplier of durable, water-tight and abrasion-resistant bearing products that eliminate metal-on-metal contact and the associated problems of abrasion, electrolysis and corrosion. Tides Marine also distributes Aqualuma® underwater LED lights and MATE horns, pumps and rub rail. Charles B., owner and captain of a 1968 Islander 37, shared his deep appreciation for the durability of the Tides Marine sail track system. While sailing a mile from his marina, a headsail failure caused his mast to snap in half. Thanks to the Tides Marine sail track, the upper section of the mast remained secured, preventing it from falling into the water — potentially saving lives and avoiding serious injuries.

Despite the severity of the incident, only Charles sustained a minor scratch. Without the sail track, repairs could have exceeded $20,000, but the damage was contained to under $2,000. Charles credits the Tides Marine system with minimizing both risk and cost, and he continues to highly recommend the product.

A key feature of Tides Marine seals is the ability to replace a worn or damaged lip seal without having to haul the boat out of the water. This can be done by using an optional spare seal carrier kit, which holds a replacement seal on the shaft, allowing for a quick change while afloat.
