💧 Water damage goes deeper than what you can see!
In this video from Boston Auto Spa, the seats and carpeting have been removed as part of the water damage restoration process, exposing the metal floor and wiring underneath.
Carpet can feel dry on top while the padding underneath still holds moisture like a sponge. Left untreated, that trapped moisture can lead to musty odors, mold growth, rust, and corrosion of electrical connections.
Proper restoration takes more than vacuuming up the water. Affected areas need to be inspected, cleaned, and thoroughly dried, and damaged materials may need replacement. The source of the leak also needs to be identified and fixed to prevent the problem from returning.
🚗 Clogged sunroof or door drains are possible causes, but damaged seals and other leaks can also let water inside. If you notice wet carpets, recurring window condensation, or a musty smell, have it checked early.
At Boston Auto Spa, we want you to understand what’s happening beneath your carpets—because protecting your vehicle goes beyond keeping it looking clean.
