Well our little group here in east central Florida had it's first race of the fall season here at DeBary Glen last Wednesday evening. Due to a late start we only conducted one event, consisting of Carrrera classic NASCARS. The participants were, Garold Page driving the Yellow and Black #58, the colors of his company Bumble Bee Bolt on Bicycle Motors, Grant Goerner driving a loaner car out of my racing stables, the #43 Petty Plymouth, Rick Turner driving his Donnie Allison #27 Ford Torino and Joerg Whitehead driving another loaner car from my racing stables the #16 '57 Chevy. The racers drove four 5 minute heats. Garold took off from the start line and never looked back. At the end of the first heat Garold lead with 46 laps, Rick in second with 44, Grant in third with 43 and Joerg in fourth with 40. At the end of the second heat Garold increased his lead with a total of 90 laps, Grant moved into second with 87 laps, Rick dropped to third with 85 laps and Joerg in fourth with 80 laps. At the end of the third heat Garold continued his smooth driving and increased his lead by one lap with a total of 134 laps, Grant held on to second with 130 laps, Rick had trouble on the Red lane completing 123 laps and Joerg remained five laps back with 118. In the fourth and final heat Garold increased his lead by one lap and finished the race with 180 laps, Grant came in second with 174 laps, Rick finished third with 166 laps and Joerg finished his first race ever at DeBary Glen completing 156 laps. Congratulations to all racers as we had no DNFs.
As reported this was Joerg's first race at DeBary Glen and I hope he returns for many more. So far since the track was remodelled Garold Page has won every event with a clean sweep of racing during the first year at our new location.
On the 28th of September we will be racing at Page Raceway at Garold's home. Most likely 1/24th Flexis with NASCAR bodies.
Here are the results from last week's race
