DeBary Glen Raceway This page is dedicated to providing information about DeBary Glen Raceway. It now has only the routed 4 lane mdf track which has been shortened to 55'

This is a 55' four lane routed mdf slot car track with commercial type controller hook ups and a computer controlled lap counter and timing system. The facility is located at my residence and access can be obtained by calling me when a visit is wanted.

DeBary Glen has been recently completely rebraided. No more copper tape breaks at inopportune moments. The track is fast with plenty of power. If you want to try it out just call me or send me an email or PM.

Well our little group here in east central Florida had it's first race of the fall season here at DeBary Glen last Wednesday evening. Due to a late start we only conducted one event, consisting of Carrrera classic NASCARS. The participants were, Garold Page driving the Yellow and Black #58, the colors of his company Bumble Bee Bolt on Bicycle Motors, Grant Goerner driving a loaner car out of my racing stables, the #43 Petty Plymouth, Rick Turner driving his Donnie Allison #27 Ford Torino and Joerg Whitehead driving another loaner car from my racing stables the #16 '57 Chevy. The racers drove four 5 minute heats. Garold took off from the start line and never looked back. At the end of the first heat Garold lead with 46 laps, Rick in second with 44, Grant in third with 43 and Joerg in fourth with 40. At the end of the second heat Garold increased his lead with a total of 90 laps, Grant moved into second with 87 laps, Rick dropped to third with 85 laps and Joerg in fourth with 80 laps. At the end of the third heat Garold continued his smooth driving and increased his lead by one lap with a total of 134 laps, Grant held on to second with 130 laps, Rick had trouble on the Red lane completing 123 laps and Joerg remained five laps back with 118. In the fourth and final heat Garold increased his lead by one lap and finished the race with 180 laps, Grant came in second with 174 laps, Rick finished third with 166 laps and Joerg finished his first race ever at DeBary Glen completing 156 laps. Congratulations to all racers as we had no DNFs.

As reported this was Joerg's first race at DeBary Glen and I hope he returns for many more. So far since the track was remodelled Garold Page has won every event with a clean sweep of racing during the first year at our new location.

On the 28th of September we will be racing at Page Raceway at Garold's home. Most likely 1/24th Flexis with NASCAR bodies.

Here are the results from last week's race

Well, fall is right around the corner and I'm planning to start a fall racing series starting September 14th. What we race and how often is still up for debate. I have enough cars here to begin racing in any one of several categories. As far as parking is concerned I can move my van down to the parking lot by the pool on race night. If we start by 7:30PM we should be done by 9:00PM. Those of you who are interested should leave a message so I can figure out how many racers will be here. It's a nice track and it is a shame it sits here empty every night.

Next rce will be at Page raceway, Sunday June 19th at 7:30 PM. FCRs and Flexis.

06/03/2016

Racing tomorrow nite, Sat. June 4th, 7:00PM . One race will have a $5 entry fee. Three or less racers winner takes all. Four or more racers the pot will be split 75/25 between the winner and runner up. If this works to everyone's satisfaction it will be a regular feature.

Racing this Saturday evening May 7th, 7:00PM

04/19/2016

Due to a scheduling conflict on April 30th with the GRRR group I am rescheduling the race at DeBary Glen to the following Saturday, May 7th at 7:00 PM. I hope you can make it.

Well, here it is April and there hasn't been any races at DeBary Glen in quite a while. This week I am hoping that my good friend Garold Page will be available to perform a resurfacing and retaping of the raceway. The winter months weren't kind to the track and the copper tape has come unstuck in several places that I can't reach. Right now there is only one lane fully operational and although that I all I need to drive alone we can't race until the track is repaired. I will post news when it happens

12/09/2015

Just a reminder that the track will be open for racing on Saturday evening. Racing starts at 7:00 PM. Carrera classic Nascars and if time permits a GT lightning IROC race.

Next race Saturday Dec. 12, 2015. Same time same station. Adding an IROC race, I supply the cars.

Saturday evening we had our best turnout so far. Six racers were present and we waited til 7:00PM for the seventh to arrive. He must have made a wrong turn somewhere. Present were, Garold, Charmaine, Tony P., Olivia, Rick and Larry G. from FUBAR racing. This month's race came off without a hitch. No delays for track repairs and only one car died during the race which was quickly replaced with a spare. Even without much practice the drivers are getting better as they grow more familiar with the layout. Since we had sitouts it was hard to determine who the overall leader was until the last heat. We ran 5 minute heats with 3 minute breaks in between. It was apparent that Garold and Tony were going to be close at the finish. The red lane was the deciding factor and in the end Garold won again with a total of 191 laps, Tony finished in second with 189 laps, Rick came in third with 182 laps, Larry, after a slow start, was fourth with 180 laps, Olivia was fifth with 175 laps and Charmaine, our rookie racer, was sixth with 164 laps. BTW, I was race director for this event. Soon I hope to persuade someone else to handle that job so I may enter a race.

Here are some images from the evening.
