Moving forward, I’m going to be much more selective about the projects and work I take on at Ruthless Performance and Fab.

One of the biggest changes is going to be unfinished projects and cars that have been through multiple shops or worked on by multiple people.

I’ve spent years being the guy willing to take on those projects, figure out what everyone before me did, fix the problems I find along the way and somehow still try to keep the bill reasonable. The problem is that I’ve ended up eating countless hours fixing problems I didn’t create just because I felt bad about how much time was going into the car.

I’m not doing that anymore.

If I take on an unfinished or previously modified project, all of the time required to work on that car is billable. If I have to diagnose somebody else’s wiring, redo fabrication, remove something installed incorrectly, research undocumented parts or modifications, or fix something that prevents me from doing my job correctly, that time is part of the job.

I will always stand behind my own work. If something I fabricated, wired or installed is wrong because of something I did, I’ll own it and make it right.

But I cannot take responsibility for work I didn’t perform.

The same goes for my labor rate. My time costs what my time costs. I’m done discounting hours because a project became more expensive than expected, and I’m done giving away my time because I feel guilty about presenting someone with a bill for work I actually performed.

I’ve done that for years because I wanted to help people finish their cars. All it has gotten me is stressed out, losing money and feeling like I have to justify getting paid for my own work.

I’m also not interested in working for exposure, shoutouts or promises of future work. My work speaks for itself.

If my pricing doesn’t fit your budget, that’s completely fine. There are no hard feelings. But I’m not going to lower the value of my work to make a project fit a budget it doesn’t fit.

I’d genuinely rather not take a job than take one knowing I’m going to lose money or have to fight to get paid for the time it actually requires.

This isn’t about one person or one project. It’s something I’ve learned after years of doing this.

I still want to build cool s**t. I still want the difficult fabrication jobs and complicated projects. I just want to do them for customers who understand what goes into doing them correctly and respect the time it takes.

Going forward, I’ll stand behind every hour of my work.

I’m just not going to pay for somebody else’s.

I wanted to give everyone an update on what’s going on with the shop.

I knew that I was eventually going to have to move, but I was originally expecting to have around 90 days to make that transition. Instead, I was given exactly 30 days to be completely out of the current shop by August 31st.

Obviously, that changed the timeline pretty drastically. I’m now trying to finish up the work I already have here while also packing up and moving an entire shop in a fraction of the time I thought I would have.

To my current customers, please be patient with me over the next few weeks. I’m doing everything I possibly can to keep jobs moving, but I’m running on fumes between the shop, this move, my personal life, and all of the normal responsibilities that don’t stop just because this happened. I only have two hands and very little extra help, and there are only so many hours in a day.

Once the move is finished, Ruthless Performance and Fab will be operating out of a much smaller location. Going forward, everything will be 100% by appointment only. With the limited space, I’ll also be much more selective about the work I take on and the number of vehicles I have at the shop at one time.

I’m going to need a little time during the transition to get moved, organized, and operational again. I’ll keep everyone updated as things progress.

I appreciate everyone who has supported me and the business over the years and everyone who has been understanding through all of this. I’m not shutting down or going anywhere. Things are just going to operate a little differently moving forward.

For now, I’m just putting my head down and doing everything I can to get through the next few weeks and make this transition happen.

Is this the world's quickest Chevy Suburban? 🧐

If there was a 'super heavyweight' class at Sick Week 2026 Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive, Alberto Fernandez would surely have qualified. It's almost three tons of fun and Alberto drove to several new personal bests throughout the event.

• We’re a small business, not a corporation. We value communication, honesty, and mutual respect.
