After 51 years of serving our community, Stan's Transmission has closed its doors of operation and is saying farewell and thank you to all we have met, worked with and worked for. Stan Mitchell (our father) opened the shop in the early 60's, either 61 or 63, I am not 100% sure. I was just a kid. He groomed his one son, Robert, who started working with his father at 16 and then joined him in the business after high school, somewhere around 1971. Robert and Stan worked side by side for over 40 years, building a strong customer base. The business was grown with the principals of truth, honesty & fairness to all of its customers. These principals & character made the business! In 1995 Stan III AKA "Mitch" joined his father & brother in the business. Mitch was the inside man. His area of expertise & education was inside office management. June of 2010 Stan passed away after a courageous battle with lung cancer, never letting the customers know he was ill & always greeting them with his radiant smile. For the next 4 years Robert & Mitch, with the help of Joe Ventura, (service manager) continued operating the family business. Florence, Robert & Mitch's mother also helped in the office. Although Stan & Florence divorced when the "kids" were very young, they remained friends for a lifetime. As Mitch posted earlier, he took early retirement. Robert has had a series of health problems but has been strong & determined to fight back in spite of his disabilities. Joe Ventura decided to leave the business and start his own business, on a much smaller scale than Stan's Transmission. We support Joe in his new venture and highly recommend him. Joe is very honest and technically & mechanically skilled. Factoring in all of these circumstances, the decision was made to close the doors April 01, 2014. Again we would like to say thank you to each and every person any of us have encountered. FAREWELL OUR FRIEND & CUSTOMERS.
