Small Biz owners should support, patronize, and give kudos to other local small businesses! Today, our hats 🎩 are off to all Rhea County Small Businesses owners!! Those of us who want other businesses to thrive (other than our own), give one reason why we shouldn’t give kudos and shoutouts? I can give us reasons why we should!
Many provide essential, specialized and sometimes even certified services. There are millions of dollars spent in this economy by small businesses every year from essential, needed, quality products and services; to jobs, job security, and a whole lot of insurance. Then let’s look at the taxes paid each and every week, month, quarter and year!! that’s right our Tax schedule is taxes every week for payroll, taxes every month for sales, taxes every quarter for tires and oil that we sold, quarterly payroll taxes, and annual taxes. There are so many that I’m sure I’m leaving something out.
Did I say millions? Yes millions. As you commute between the COUNTY lines in all directions, just count the small businesses, the jobs, the wages that are paid, and therefore the taxes that are generated to include the sales of our products and services and all of the rest mentioned above.
The costs involved to run a small business is the scariest part about running a business. You know: are you going to be able to make payroll all month? Are you going to be able to handle the rising insurance costs that have risen by 50% over the past few years? And Lord forbid what if after two or three years of no accident, someone hits a parked vehicle on site and now you have a claim? Time to pay more insurance if you turn it in to your carrier! Let me tell you…..It’s not for the faint of heart, it’s extremely expensive, and those costs continue to rise.
Please always remember reputable businesses stand behind their work, their warranties where there are warranties, and strive to be honest, transparent, and trustworthy every single day.
Do businesses get a bad review every now and again? Sure we do. But those good reviews typically by far out way the bad reviews. We strive to be perfect every day, although we are not always as successful at that as we would like to be.
Our crew: how can we not recognize them? It takes special people to be able to work in an auto shop, whether at the desk or in the shop!
And oh my, does it ever take a special type of patience to be able to work on cars and trucks? If you don’t do this work, you don’t have a clue what these guys go through in 110° shop I can tell you right now. I couldn’t do it myself if I was having to be down inside of those vehicles or under them, working in these temps. They simply cannot physically or mentally work as fast in those temperatures. We are so blessed that our customers have been so understanding with our delays recently due to the heat and due to being shorthanded because of vacations, etc. Thankfully, we are getting caught up.
To Mike Richey. Well to put it bluntly and simply, without you this place would flop! You are the brains of the hot operation downstairs and we are so thankful for you!
