First time we've had to replace a battery management board on a battery pack this old! The BMB on these original batteries are hardwired to the modules and require bomb-diffusing level skills to carefully disconnect and reattach. Pete's wearing his PPE because if he crosses wires he could get a face full of vaporized copper. No thanks!

This customer got super lucky - water got into their pack via a rusted fuse cover but only caused minor damage to the module 8 BMB.

You guys like novelty LDU failures so here's another one! Like a toaster in a bathtub.

How many "only in a repair shop" things can you spot 😂 I just wanted my Sqwincher Sqweeze

New LDU problem! Turns out if the inverter seal gets rolled and flattened at the factory, water seeps in and causes fun and exciting failures for Pete to diagnose at midnight.

This one's for the pros! Pete walks through how we validate our Open VSH battery pack repairs. If you're a professional working on Model S/X batteries, let us know if you'd be interested in learning more about our software once it's available!

New and exciting LDU failure! Thankfully we were able to salvage some internal components and still give this customer a bullet-proofed rebuilt motor at a discount compared to a remanufactured unit.

Rare diagnostic find!! This customer sought out a second opinion from us on this intermittent isolation issue that was causing the car to shut down after driving through heavy rain. Pete explains what happened and how we found the simple solution!

This Model S is one of the cleanest and well cared for we have ever seen in our shop, but it was still vulnerable to water ingress into the high voltage system. Pete explains how this one got lucky!

In our battery maintenance service we inspect the fuse cover, umbrella valves, and rapid mate seals and ensure your battery is protected from water. These battery packs are seeing extraordinary lifetimes at the cell level, don't let water short out your electronics or flood cells and give it a premature death!

300,000 mile car with just 50,000 on the drive unit - what did we find?? 👀
