We got quite a bit done on Reba this weekend. Raptor lined, trim deep cleaned and conditioned, floor in, ceiling insulated, wired for interior lights, and framed in. Next up will be a a bit more insulation, ceiling paneling, lights installed. Bigger next projects will be batteries, dc to dc charger, and sore power charger.

Raptor Liner sprayed, waiting on supplies to touch up the red but Reba is starting to get kinda hot.

All 4 windows are leak free! The fourth was by far the worse and will likely leak again soon, whoever did the cutouts messed me up good. Flarespace flares will go in soon enough and there is enough material left of the van to urethane bond them in for a watertight seal and extra bed space to boot.

Over the last three days we’ve gotten about an inch of rain, 2 of my 3 window repairs were dry as a bone, 1 of 3 is wet but I’m highly convinced it’s coming from exposed weep holes under my trim, and the fourth untouched window was clearly leaking with a little stream visible an hour after the rain stopped. Worse case scenario is I cut the rear windows out and install Flarespace pods, best case is I repair water intrusion and continue with my short term cheap build.

While waiting to make the purchase of the windows Reba wants, I am attempting to repair the window install Reba has. First one seems to be dry after my quick water test. Pulled out the window and during removal I could tell the top just wasn’t sticking to the metal as well as the bottom, I used a plastic trim tool to separate the butyl seal. After the window was removed I found terrible cuts, bent jagged metal, rust, and peeling paint that I filed, sanded, re-bent, and primed. Cleaned the sealing edge of the window, applied butyl tape (that I rolled into a round shape), then reinstalled. Unfortunately I picked the easiest, prettiest looking window to do first, the other three may be mangled and filled with three different “sealants” as a fix. All in all, this fix cost me a few dollars, a few hours, and I know it’s done right.

We are distributors for Flarespace, Van Windows Direct, and working on another vender for electrical/solar. Look at Squach living his best life, riding with the wild donuts of Northern Michigan...this could be you but you're busy trying to fit a van build in to your schedule.

We’re inching closer to the inevitable, window replacement for Reba. We will be replacing the mids with urethane bonded sliders from Van Windows Direct and the back sides with bump outs from Flarespace. Since I’m taking out the insulation it looks like Havelock will be going in its place. Doing work correctly is easier the first time, unless you hide it behind layers of silicon and spray foam, then it’s just harder for me, lol.
