We are so grateful to all of our patrons for trusting J&J Garage to keep your vehicles running smoothly. Whether you’re new to the island or simply haven’t needed our services in a while, we want to share a quick reminder about our drop-off process:

🚗 Vehicle Drop-Off
🔹 Please drop off carts in front of the office only.
🔹 Repair sheets are available on the clipboard next to the office entrance. Once completed, place them in the box directly below the clipboard.
This system allows you to drop off vehicles anytime—day or night—regardless of our business hours.

⚠️ Important Parking Notice
Because we share our lot with multiple businesses, any carts left in the “Pick-Up Lot” (for completed vehicles) or elsewhere in the parking lot may not be seen by our team—and we won’t know they need repairs.

🔧 Safety First
For insurance and safety reasons, only J&J Garage staff are permitted to drive vehicles around the back of the building or into the repair bays. We appreciate your cooperation as we continue adding more signage to make the process even smoother.

🛠Meet Josh Knose – ASE Master Technician and Co-Founder of J&J Garage 🛠
Most people don’t realize what it takes to become a Master Mechanic. Like any true craft, it demands a rare combination of hands-on experience, deep technical knowledge, and the determination to keep learning. That’s exactly what Josh Knose brings to the table—and then some.
Josh’s journey began in the high-pressure environment of a competitive automotive repair shop, where mechanics had to bring their own tools, prove their skill daily, and hustle for every opportunity to earn a paycheck. Eager to rise through the ranks, Josh once asked his boss how to reach the top. The response? “Give it 20 years.”
But Josh had other plans.
Driven to excel, he struck a deal: every ASE certification he passed would earn him a raise. That meant long days at work, followed by nights in the classroom. One by one, he tackled the rigorous A-Series exams from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence—tests covering Engine Repair, Suspension & Steering, Brakes, Electrical Systems, Air Conditioning, and more.
Over the years, his effort and dedication paid off. Josh is now an ASE Master Technician, a title earned only by those who complete and maintain certifications across the full range of core automotive systems. Combined with over 20 years of real-world experience, this makes him one of the most qualified mechanics in the region.
Fifteen years ago, Josh brought that expertise to Daufuskie Island. After working in the Haig Point engineering department, he and longtime friend James began fixing their own vehicles on the side. Word spread, neighbors came calling, and soon enough, the garage grew into something more. Today, that small backyard shop is now J&J Garage—serving the island with trusted, top-tier auto and golf cart repair.
