Good Morning and Happy Wednesday!

I just saved us $$$! (same day vet appt plus meds and treatment would be a minimum of $250!).

Lucy is dealing with a stubborn case of hoof thrush, which means lots of hoof cleaning, treating, and monitoring. Plus a shot of Banamine for pain mgt. If I had to outsource every bit of that care to a veterinarian, I’d spend an absolute fortune. My confidence and ability has grown over the years and saved us thousands of dollars. Knowing when I can handle something myself and when it’s time to call the vet has become one of the most valuable skills I’ve gained.

Just checked on her and her limp is already less pronounced.

Growing up around my parents’ and grandparents’ antique businesses gave me an appreciation for old things. I still love finding useful pieces that can be repurposed instead of buying something new. When I spotted this old to***co stick ladder (early-mid 1900’s) at an antique store, I loved it immediately. It’s perfect for drying my garden grown herbs. .

Breakfast time! Baby Josophat isn’t so little anymore, but he still gets special treatment. Every morning I feed him his supplemental grower grain in the barn….just the two of us.

I look forward to our one-on-one time as much as he looks forward to his solo meal. He’s so well-trained now and happily leads the way to the barn for breakfast, then heads right back out to the barnyard when he’s finished.

Native Spider Lily! 🤩

Good morning! About a month after we moved in, we spent quite a bit of time exploring the back 40, curious to see what native plants and wildflowers were already growing on the property. On one of our walks through the woods, we came across a cluster of what we thought were baby lilies.

Jeremy decided to dig one up and experiment with transplanting it. He planted it along the fence by the pickleball court.

Honestly, I had almost forgotten about it…until it bloomed last night. I was at a meeting when Jeremy texted me to let me know. I couldn’t wait to get up this morning to see it.

I guess I’m at that stage in life where little things like this bring me big joy.

What an absolute stunner! The fragrance is incredible, too.

It’s been almost six months since I last made soap, so I was definitely a little rusty. I wasn’t sure this batch would turn out, but I’m so happy with the results. Despite being out of practice, this may be one of my best yet!
