Today's 10:00am 1/2 day aboard the Sum Fun saw great bass action in some warm 70° off color water. Even with some mixed up conditions anglers managed to get some sardines into the mouths of some nice calico bass.

As we approach our summer season we have begun to see some really encouraging signs along the coast. The local kelp paddy yellowtail have come into play and here is a couple very nice ones caught today.

As the water keeps getting better and better we'd hope to keep seeing this fish filter in.

The variety continues! We've had really good mixed rockfish biting in the deeper waters both on the 14 Mile Bank and along the beach below San Onofre!

In the 1/2 day zone closer to home we've had some real crowd pleaser size sheephead and a few sand bass and calico bass.

Some swell and current has the inside areas a little mixed up currently but as fast as things get wonky they can bounce right back into shape!

Catching a few barracuda here is a great indicator that things are moving towards summer time. They're not all legal fish but we've had a few keepers in the mix along the coast. Surface jigs like 45 or a live sardine have been catching fish.
