We will be closed January 11, 2022 for a celebration of life for one of our drivers, Chris Higgins, who passed away suddenly. We apologize for the inconvenience but we are a family and family does come first. Thank you for your understanding.
Chris Higgins, age 43 of Harveys Lake, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre on March 1, 1978 and was the son of Rose Higgins of Harveys Lake and the late Marty Higgins, Sr.
Chris graduated from Lake-Lehman, Class of 1997. He was currently employed as a truck driver for Calex Logistics, Pittston for the last 13 years and Eli Towing and Recovery, Dallas for 2 years. He was also the Assistant Fire Chief for Harveys Lake Fire and Ambulance. Chris enjoyed fishing, going on his ponton boat, wood working, and helping anyone who he could. He was a hard worker and loving husband, father, and friend.
Chris is survived by his wife of 15 years, the former April Geiger; daughter, Jessica Geiger of Glen Lyon; son, Zachary Higgins, at home; brother, Marty Higgins, Jr.; best friend, Kevin Partash and his wife, Deejay; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 11 at 11:00 AM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor L.D. Reed, Emmanuel Assembly of God Church, Harveys Lake, officiating.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 10, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Perrego Cemetery, Harveys Lake.
