What an amazing car for the price. It outperforms much more expensive cars. I hope they develop a full endurance car for WRL and other endurance series’.

Lion Racing had a slow start to the beginning of the season due to my complications with COVID but will aggressively push ahead in the second half of the season. We will have seats available in WRL in our Boxster S in addition to running NASA races. We will also have our seats available in our Miata for Champ Car and competitor licensing schools. In addition we will rebuild our Panoz Esperante for WRL and select NASA events.

Lion Racing has added a new title sponsor, as we look forward to the second half of the season. "ConGenius is the easiest, fastest, and smartest way for contractors to build winning estimates. Combining CRM, takeoff, estimating, and proposal building into one simple to use software suite. It's specifically built for small contractors, remodelers, and tradesmen."

Coming from a construction background I have used the product and am impressed with its easy of use and accuracy. Congratulations Ben on its development.

The brothers; one powerful and the other quick and nimble. People ask which I like better, which of your kids do you like better (don’t answer)? Love them both, they’re just different.

Martin Ospina took third place in his third moto, clinching him a second place overall in the 65cc 7-9 year old class. Lion Racing was excited to be part of this amazing feat for his first of hopefully many trips to the Loretta Lynn!

This morning the AMA National Amateur’s final day started out a little muddy after a four hour rain delay. The sky finally cleared and the racing started. It went from almost impossible to ride in, due to deep mud, to a pretty dry track by the end of the day. The races were changed to only five laps in length but still made for fabulous racing.

Lion Racing is excited to announce that Martin Ospina, son of my wife’s cousin and former Colombian National Motocross Champion, Manual Ospina , recently came to the US and won the AMA Regional 65cc Championship for 7-9 year olds to qualify for The Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship, formerly the Loretta Lynn's Amateur Championship, held annually on Loretta Lynn's family ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. Though Martin has a few years to go this is a major stepping stone to a riders professional career. Good luck Martin!

Lion Racing, with Owner/Driver John Lionberger, is excited to announce our return to NASA Pro Racing’s German Touring season on January 28th and 29th. Everyone had a challenging weekend due to heavy rains all week prior and each night before the 8:00 am warmup session.

Saturday the rain stopped just minutes before the warm up session leaving a totally green track with large puddles in several key places. I went out on slicks to practice in case it rained during the race if I started on slicks. Unfortunately, several cars spun or went off track and it became a race to the next yellow flag. I gained a lot of knowledge about what to expect if it did start raining during a race.

Unfortunately qualifying had the same conditions so no one really had a chance to get a good time. I qualified 12th for the first race and made it to 5th right at the start. I started picking up more ground until I found a puddle while running slicks. I had a quick spin and watched all the cars I passed go by as well as a few others. I was able to take back all the positions I lost and finished 5th overall.

The second race Saturday started very much the same. We had a little rain which washed off the rubber that was starting to build up giving us another green track. I started 5th but ended up finishing 9th overall.

Sunday we expected to race in the rain all day, which I love, but we ended up with the exact same conditions. It rained right before warmup with constant yellow flags. I started the Sunday race 9th and had a great race until I found another puddle and spun into the grass. I couldn’t keep the car moving after the spin and had to wait to get pulled out. My sincere appreciation for the wonderful job the safety crew does. They got me out quickly and back on track. I quickly began passing the cars that went by until I had a fuel pickup problem with three laps to go. I pulled into pit lane right when they showed one lap to go. I should have pulled through pit lane and tried to finish but I doubtI would have made it another lap. That’s racing.

Overall a great weekend with a lot of knowledge gained due to ever changing track conditions. My compliments to the Texas Region NASA staff for a great weekend under some of the most challenging conditions I’ve seen.

A big shout out to David Long and his team at Long Racing. I wouldn’t have made it to the track without their late nights. If you need your exotic worked on give David a call at 281-732-7177.

Starting at the December WRL race at COTA we will begin selling seats for the weekend in our Boxster S. Pricing to follow soon. Unfortunately fuel prices for VP 109 have increased significantly. We'll keep you posted! We are looking at buying two new cars for 2023 to rent at WRL and NASA events.
