What started as a side-hustle for a college freshman back in 2013 has now become an award-winning business within the North Metro Atlanta Area.

Allan Watson of A&B Auto Detailing began his journey in the business with a passion for keeping his own vehicle clean as a teenager. While attending university in Dahlonega, GA, he was looking for a way to get through school that would also allow him to

have some pocket money and the free time he needed to succeed academically. After assessing his pastimes, likes, and dislikes, he considered the idea of taking his love for a clean vehicle and providing that same satisfactory feeling to others in his community. Once it was clear that this was a pretty cool way to go compared to many of his classmates, he purchased a vacuum, some microfiber clothes, gathered his detailing supplies from home, loaded up his hatchback Nissan car with supplies and equipment, and off he went.

Allan chose to go mobile because he assumed that his customers would value that convenience, and he was right. He started posting on Facebook and in local yard sale pages, trying to get in front of as many people as possible. He told family, friends, church members, all the while posting on social media each and every day.

As with many new service businesses, growing takes time. Word of mouth and social media are powerful, but it takes patience and persistence to use both to your advantage. As he continued to get in front of more and more people, he made it the priority to provide a level of quality in his work that people would HAVE to tell others about. He kept learning as he went, figuring out which tools, products, and techniques worked best.

Fast forward to 2019. While Allan is continuing to learn each day, he has developed techniques, product combinations, and routines that make him one of the most thorough yet efficient detailers in Georgia.

His goal is still to provide the highest level of quality work to his clients because he knows that the best advertising is a happy customer.

“I started out with an idea, and a motivation to build something out of nothing. I’ve always enjoyed a clean vehicle and the pride that comes with it, so I figured, ‘Why not try it?’ It turns out people lovvvve the mobile aspect of it because they don’t have to settle for a cheaper, less effective car wash tunnel, and they also don’t have to settle for a brick-and-mortar detail shop where they have to drop off, pick up, call someone for a ride, etc.

I am a native of Forsyth County and I love being able to serve and give back to the very community that has molded me into who I am today. I would love the opportunity to serve you and your family and use what I enjoy to make a difference for many more people in the years to come.”
