2026 Season Wrap-Up

What a fun season of racing!

After more than 20 years of racing motocross and off-road, this was my first time chasing an off-road championship, and I had an absolute blast. Every course brought something different to the table, with unique challenges, great layouts, and some awesome competition.

The final two rounds certainly kept things interesting!

I was especially excited to race the FDXCR at Valley Raceway. After a terrible start, I worked my way into 2nd heading into the woods. Unfortunately, about halfway through the first lap, I lost the sight glass out of my rear brake master cylinder. I tried to adapt to riding without a rear brake, but pulled off after a few falls.

Not exactly how I envisioned racing at my home track! Thankfully, Crystal Steel House welded the sight glass opening shut, so that won’t be happening again!

Heading into the Northwoods Fall Scramble, the final AMA District 16 Harescramble of the season, I held a narrow 1-point championship lead.

The +30A class was stacked, and the championship was up for grabs. Throughout the race, I put myself in position multiple times to bring home the title, but the competition was tough, and I ultimately came up a few points short.

5th in +30A | 10th Overall

Of course, I would have loved to bring home the championship, but looking back, it’s hard to be disappointed.

I got to race some incredible courses, battle with great riders, pick up my first District 16 Harescramble win in over 15 years, and spend weekends doing something I love.

More importantly, I got to share the entire experience with my family. A huge thank you to my wife for supporting this crazy hobby and making it possible to have our family at every race. Those memories mean more than any trophy.

Thank you to the clubs, volunteers, fellow racers, sponsors, and everyone who helped make this season possible. The amount of work that goes into putting on these events doesn’t go unnoticed.

Twenty-year-old bikes, new challenges, and just as much passion for racing as ever.

The championship may have slipped away, but the fun certainly hasn’t. Already looking forward to what 2027 brings!

Time flies when you’re having fun—and last weekend was one of the most fun weekends I’ve had in more than 20 years of racing.

Saturday started with the Superior MX Series Championship at Pine Ridge Raceway. The track was about as good as it gets, and we had a great day of racing. +35A was on the second drop behind the 2-Stroke class, which made for some awesome racing as we worked our way through the pack.

Moto 1 was a battle from start to finish. In Moto 2, I came out around second, settled in, and rode my own race. A 4-2 score gave me 2nd overall for the day.

Then it was time to switch hats.

I updated the Superior MX points, hosted the year-end banquet, loaded everything back up, and headed for Wisconsin Rapids to line up for the AMA District 16 Harescramble Sunday morning.

After all the dry racing this year, we finally got perfect conditions. The course was saturated, and the Rapid Angels laid out one of the most fun courses of the season.

The 20-year-old YZ144 was an absolute blast in the sand. Kory Blake and I battled throughout the race, and I was able to narrowly come away with the +30A WIN and 6th overall!

My first District 16 Harescramble win in more than 15 years.

That one felt pretty special.

A 2006 YZ250 on Saturday. A 2006 YZ144 on Sunday. Motocross one day, hare scramble the next—and still having as much fun racing these bikes as I did 20 years ago.

Raced Then. Raced Now.

Now it’s back to promoter mode. We’re getting Valley Raceway ready for open practice tomorrow and Four-Wheeler Dirt bike Cross Country Racing, FDXCR racing Sunday.
