It was a long slow drive home with this setup. The 6.9IDI was not stoked. 3 dudes in the cab, scout on the deck and a scout in the trailer. Plus all the tools and gear for 8 days at King of the Hammers. Solid type 2 fun at the time.

Memories are great. This particular trip, July 2023 was memorable because, it was a real test of Josie Marie Barnum . We had to drive 26 hours straight to meet our drop time for the tub on the top of the load. I'm a road warrior but I'm not that good, so josie had to drive a portion of the trip. She had only driven the eagle a few times and never towed with it. Luckily, she got to drive in the dark on flat Nebraska highways. She did a great job and we got there no problems. The truck also ran flawless and was not shut down the entire run. We don't do trips like this anymore, because we dont have to, but it is a fun to look back on crazy moments. Nobody has more confidence in thier wife than a man with no other option. She definitely comes through when I need her.

I still have the old 64 1200. The 304 got pretty tired and the 4 speed wouldnt stay in 4th anymore, so it got parked. I have a good 345 and a T36 direct drive 5 speed for it. The current axles have 3.73s and its running 285/75-16s. Went down the road nice. It'll be back in service soon, since I'll be selling the green travelette end of summer.

I'm bringing this guy in soon. I'm keeping the cab and sheet meatal but I have no interest in the wrecker bed. Who wants this old setup? Once its pulled off, it wont sit for long, since I dont have room for it. And no, I'm not keeping it whole to use as a wrecker, so don't suggest it.
