We understand your frustrations with the conditions of the roads and the toll the heavy trucks take on them. People love when new things or places that benefit them are being built in the area but don't like when it's an inconvenience to their daily lives. We understand that, we are people too. We would like to give you just a little insight to where some of out material has went. Did you know our material is currently being hauled to the Coweta Jr High School and will be underneath the new addition to the school that was voted on by YOU THE CITIZENS OF COWETA? Those sitting on the city council board voted to approve the bond for election by the citizens of Coweta in early 2023. There's also a pretty good chance our material will be used for many of the other school bond projects as well.
Have you have patroned Scooters Coffee, Medwise, or ExpressRX right here in Coweta? That's just a few business that we have supplied the Shale for. To name a few more Starbucks in Wagoner, Quick Trip, Whataburger and Olive Garden in Muskogee, Chase bank and Slims chicken in Broken Arrow, Quick Rip in Chouteau, Panda Express off 145th and the Creek turnpike. Oh and hundreds of homes in and around Coweta. If you have a new home in the area chance are a little slice of our land is under your new home.
The trucks you see going down 121st the Department of Transportation (DOT) says for those trucks to take the shortest route, which is the reason these trucks aren't being pulled over and ticketed, because they have reason to be in the area. They are doing their job, just like we are doing ours, and you do yours. You simply cannot stop commerce! We as a small business would like the chance to earn a living without people coming at us from every direction. We have been fighting this same battle for 6 years and it's the same fight every year when new construction season starts. It is understandable that the everyday citizen may not know the laws for heavy road tax use(trucking), DOT regulations or city/county regulations when it comes to construction and that's ok. There's no need to bash people just trying to provide for their families. Instead ask questions so you can better understand the situation at hand.
We also want to assure you that we are doing our part to minimize the impact on the roads. We have offered material to the county and city for reapirs to the roads but that offer has not been utilized. Once the trucks leave our pit we have no control over the route they take. Over the years we have been asked to have the trucks use other roads throughout the county, however, all that really does is impact more miles of roads to be repaired, cost more taxpayer dollars for the repairs and inevitably takes longer for repairs to be completed. What makes more sense having a truck route of the shortest distance on a road that already needs repaired or dispersing trucks in every direction that will damage more roadways?
At the end of the day, we are all neighbors and members of the same community. We ask for your understanding and support as we work to provide necessary materials for local projects and to earn a living for ourselves and our families.
If you have any further concerns or questions, we would be more than happy to address them. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your support.
