In the past two weeks, visitors from Armenia, the Netherlands, Sweden, New Jersey, Philadelphia PA, Ohio, Denmark, Peru, Mexico, Charleston SC, and many other places have explored the Alleghany Highlands of Virginia and the Jackson River. Everyone was impressed by the beauty of the area and shared plenty of compliments. Our backyard is truly amazing—check it out while you can! Only a few warm weeks remain, and Labor Day weekend is coming up fast!

We've been working 9 to 5 since May, so with today's pulse release the river will rise too high to float, but there will still be Islands in the Stream, and Alleghany Outdoors will be closed.

Hey everyone, how many of you are hitting up local trails or thinking about starting?

We've got an awesome trail network, and a bunch of these trails are getting back in shape thanks to the Alleghany Highlands Trails Alliance.

Trail maintenance can only do so much, these trails need some love, and we're hoping to see more people out there. The more they are used the better they are maintained!

Would any of you be interested in Alleghany Outdoors putting on a beginner hiking class for day and overnight trips?

From there, we'd look into hosting or helping with hikes in both the Alleghany Highlands of Virginia and Visit Bath VA.

Biking season is slowly rolling in here in the Alleghany Highlands of Virginia, and fall rides will be here before we know it. Alleghany Outdoors has electric, pedal, and special needs bikes, plus shuttles and kids’ trailers to make every ride easy and fun.
