January 19th is a Fee-Free Day! In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Gifford Pinchot National Forest will waive recreation fees at most day-use sites managed by the agency.

Forest Service offices will be closed for the federal holiday.
Participation in the Fee-Free Day may vary for concession-operated locations.

We are very sorry to announce that our fuel system has suffered yet another technical issue.

After the power outage, our machine has stopped responding! We are actively working towards identifying the issue so it can be properly repaired.

This means ALL fuel accounts are inaccessible. If you have an account with us, please fill up at Cougar Store and be sure to sign your receipt for monthly billing!

We greatly thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this development.

FR 21 mudslide

⚠️Mudslide on Forest Road 21.

A mudslide has occurred on Forest Road 21 bringing soil and trees across the road. Location is near the junction with Forest Road 23 on the Cowlitz Valley Ranger District.

Until debris is removed visitors should avoid the area. Updates will be posted here and on the GPNF website: https://www.fs.usda.gov/.../forest-roads-impacted-rain-event

Visitors should also maintain awareness of other slide and washout activity that could impact other Forest roads with the abundant rain the Forest has received.

Happy Fall Y’all!

Our Fall Hours go into effect today! We will be closing at 7 pm Sundays through Thursdays, and open untill 8 pm Fridays and Saturdays.
