RECAP: GT4RS Weissach in PTS Meissen Blue

Scroll through for the before and after results from this multiple step paint correction and PPF project. With just over 1,000 miles, this car and some pretty significant defects for such a young car. The paint had deep vertical marring and scratches, likely from a car cover or transport/storage. There were also a number of sanding marks and unfinished rotary trails. Lastly, the front end had PPF that was corrected and trimmed to get another few years out of it before we replace it.

After everything was corrected, we applied PPF to the rest of the car so that it is now fully protected. The highest tier Gyeon ceramic coating was then applied to complete the glossy and slick surface.

PTS Meissen Blue is a beautiful color, and such a cool variation of the PTS blues I have worked on recently. Thank you again to the owner, and congratulations again on your new car 🙏🍻

992.2 GT3 TOURING | PTS GULF BLUE - RECAP

Another incredible spec arrived for a great friend SD 🍻🙏

This was brought over for a multiple step paint correction, front end + high impact PPF, and professional grade ceramic coating.

This one had 4-5 decent sized sanding marks that were easily removed, I’ll skip the before and afters and focus on the glamour shots of this amazing car.

I’ll post another set with Sean’s previous Gulf Blue masterpiece that I had the opportunity to work on. This color just never fails to impress me in person and I can’t thank Sean enough for trusting me over the years with his amazing collection of cars.

Detailed my neighbor’s “truck” 🍻

Watching the Scarbo Performance SV Rover drive up and down casual neighborhood streets is pretty hilarious. This $2M carbon fiber bodied, 1500hp, equipped with 2 separate Motec systems, and not sure how many King shock setups is about to be displayed and needed a quick detail after recent off road testing.

The truck has a lot of very delicate and prototype parts mixed in with full blown race parts - so we had to be very careful overall. Thankfully I have my overbuilt RO/DI system for spot free water, even out of the bucket. I used an array of Gyeon products to safely and effectively clean the truck.

A light foaming with Gyeon Foam to pull down all dirt out of the crevices. Gyeon Bathe out of the bucket, lots of Gyeon Tire Cleaner and finally the truck was finished with Gyeon Wet Coat and Ceramic Quick Detail for gloss and slickness.

My neighbor is cooking up something pretty sick for my GT3RS soon, stay tuned 🍻🍻

Recap | 992.2 Turbo S in PTS Nashy Blue

This car arrived with delivery miles for a paint correction, full body PPF, and ceramic coating. As I have said many times, even brand new cars arrive with their own unique sets of defects. In this case, isolated sanding marks, and an unusual amount of embedded dirt in the clear (see pics). The end result shows the true color and the stunning depth, vibrance, and gloss when you see the car in person.

The car was then protected in Gyeon PPF and coated with their flagship Infinite line of ceramic coatings. PTS Nashy Blue is a new PTS color, and 1 of 4 colors released in a collaboration with a well known designer and Porsche. See my previous post for more on that.

This car is incredible and definitely one of my new favorite colors. Thank you to the customer for trusting me with this one and to a great friend for referring me 🙏🍻🤝

992.2 Turbo S in PTS Nashy Blue 🔥

Nashy Blue is one of four colors released by Porsche in collaboration with artist/designer, Sean Wotherspoon. If you’re like me, you might have already been a fan of his work with projects like his collab with Nike and his Air Max 1/97.

I thought this was a really cool story behind the inspiration for a really cool color. Porsche does so many things right and continues to connect people and culture into their amazing cars 👏

There has been so much going on lately and I am grateful for all of it. Thankful to those who have trust me with their cars, thankful to those who have referred me, and thankful for those who have partnered with me.

It has been an incredible journey - I feel very lucky, but I look back at all the work and sacrifices made along the way to create this “luck” and the overwhelming feeling of luck turns into gratitude. Thank you again to those who truly support me 🙏

The rest of the year has some exciting projects in the works and more amazing cars scheduled, stay tuned 🍻

992 Turbo S | Arctic Grey | Recap

This Turbo S was recently acquired and has ~8K miles. It had PPF on the front end, half pillars, and odd shaped high impact areas that didn’t flow well with the body lines. The film was already starting to noticeably yellow and had exposed gaps where dirt was accumulating, causing the film to lift.

We decided to remove the PPF, paint correct the car, and re-apply Gyeon PPF to the full body. The car was then ceramic coated with Gyeon Infinite, Gyeon’s professional level coatings to protect the PPF and add significant gloss and slickness.

The car has been tastefully modded and the Arctic Grey color looks amazing. Thank you to the owner for bringing your new car in to me, it was a pleasure 🙏🙏

PART 1 : 992 Turbo S | PPF Replacement + Paint Correction and Ceramic Coating

This 992 Turbo S in Arctic Grey was recent acquired and brought in to replace the existing PPF, multiple step paint correction, and finish with Gyeon’s Infinite level coatings.

The PPF was visibly yellowing with noticeable differences from PPF to non-PPF’d panels. The install was a typical kit install from a dealer or high volume shop. That said, the install did its job and the car was kept in very great condition.

After the film is removed, a multiple step paint correction perfects the surface and prepare for a cleaner and better tacking install. Check out the pictures for more information on what we are addressing and stay tuned for the final results.

992 TURBO S | PPF Replacement Recap

This was a challenging project, but I’m very happy with the final result. This car was recently acquired and the owner knew he wanted the existing PPF replaced (see previous post). The PPF came off easily but what we found under the film was where the real challenges began. There were numerous touch ups that were not well done and copious amounts of adhesive promoter on every edge of the car. After addressing those issues, the paint was also etched, yellowed, and had a good amount of defects (see pictures).

Nonetheless, a 3 step paint correction restored this paint to a proper level of clarity. We then properly applied PPF to the entire car and coated it with Gyeon Infinite Base 1. The end result looks as close to new as we could get it 🙏

This is a great example of how big of a discrepancy in what is “acceptable” from shop to shop, and how much can be hidden under PPF by dealers or volume shops. Choose wisely.

992 Turbo S Project | Part 1

This car was recently acquired and arrived with 8k miles. The scope was to remove the existing PPF, paint correction, re-apply full body PPF, ceramic coating, and full interior detail. Somewhere along the way, we found various nuances that needed to be addressed under the PPF and a very rough overall condition for a car with such low mileage.

Take a look at the slides that walk through what proved to be a uniquely challenging detail project. I added individual captions to each picture this time 🍻🙏

Many of the edges of the existing PPF came up short, this promoted accumulation of dirt, early failing and lifting around many edges on this car. The installer also used adhesive promoter/super glue on nearly every edge on this car.

Pre-cut templates, sloppy installation, lots of sloppy paint touch ups all over the car that came off when the PPF was removed.

Finally got to the actual condition of the car 😬 Again, I’m just surprised that a car with such low mileage was neglected this bad and PPF was applied directly over this.
