My American Dream 🇺🇸
in 3days, exactly 10 years ago I left my country with no English, almost no money, and still finishing the final months of a bankruptcy that had started 5 years earlier in the Czech Republic.
This photo was taken 3 days before I flew to the United States.
The yellow Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe in the background was the very last car I worked on before leaving.
But part of this story goes even further back.
14 years ago, at the very beginning of that bankruptcy, I was standing on a frozen lake with my BMW E30, next to my friend’s Mitsubishi Evo 5.
I remember looking at that car and thinking that maybe one day I could own something like that.
At that time it felt like a very distant dream.
Fast forward 10 years after leaving home.
Today I run I AM DETAILING, we work on some of the most incredible cars in the world, and somehow many of those old dreams became reality.
Today I own an AMG GT, my own Evo, and several other cars I once only dreamed about.
But the greatest thing this journey gave me?
My kids.
Sometimes you have to lose everything first…
to build the life you were meant to have.
