🛠️ RV Roof, Vent & Sealant Care — What Most Owners Miss
Your RV roof may not be glamorous, but it’s one of the most critical parts of your rig. And here in Arizona’s high desert, the sun, dust, and temperature swings can wear it down fast—often without you even noticing.
Every 30 days, it’s worth doing (or having us do) a simple roof inspection. Here’s what we’re looking for:
Soft spots or bubbling, which can be signs that moisture has gotten under the membrane
Cracked sealant around vents, skylights, or AC units—this is where leaks love to start
Built-up dirt and debris around fixtures, which holds moisture and speeds up roof damage
Pro tip: Never use silicone to reseal anything on an RV roof—it doesn’t bond well to the materials and tends to peel over time. We use a UV-resistant lap sealant that flexes with the roof and lasts longer.
If your RV is parked under trees, near red rock dust, or baking in the sun, we recommend checking your roof monthly. It’s easier (and cheaper) to reseal a vent than to repair a rotted ceiling.
