🚐 Planning an Extended RV Stay?

Finding the right RV park is about more than just having a place to park. It's about choosing a location that works for your everyday life! 🏡

Here in Corning, where small-town living meets convenient access to Interstate 5 and the surrounding Northern Sacramento Valley, location and comfort can make a big difference when planning an extended stay.

Before settling into a new RV community, here are four things worth considering:

📍 LOCATION & CONVENIENCE: Think about your commute, nearby shopping, groceries, and everyday errands.

🚐 SITE SIZE & ACCESS: Make sure your RV fits comfortably and that you understand any vehicle or parking requirements.

🔌 UTILITIES & SERVICES: Ask about available hookups, utility charges, and what services are included.

📋 PARK RULES & POLICIES: Review stay requirements, community guidelines, and any important policies before moving in.

A little research ahead of time can help you find an RV community that fits your needs and makes everyday living more comfortable! 🍂

🚐 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗩 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱. Loading too much weight toward one side or concentrating heavy items too far forward or rearward can affect steering, braking, tire loading, and overall stability. Heavy supplies should generally be stored low and secured against movement, while cargo should be distributed with the RV’s axle ratings, tire limits, and overall weight capacity in mind. Water, fuel, propane, passengers, and added equipment also count toward the total load, so the weight of an RV can change considerably once it is ready for a trip.

⚖️ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸. Two RVs with the same total weight can handle differently depending on where that weight is located. Uneven loading can place excessive stress on individual tires or axles even when the RV remains below its overall weight rating. Checking the RV’s GVWR, axle ratings, tire load limits, and actual loaded weight can provide a much clearer picture than estimating based on how full the storage compartments look. Here at 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗩 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸, we welcome RV travelers looking for a comfortable place to stop, settle in, and enjoy the area during their journey.

Along with everyday essentials, it helps to pack items such as a first-aid kit, flashlights, extra drinking water, basic tools, tire-pressure equipment, leveling blocks, extension cords, and the correct water and sewer connections for your RV. Planning meals, checking campground amenities, and accounting for the length of your trip can also prevent overpacking while making sure you have the supplies needed when you're away from stores or other services.

A weekend at a full-service campground may require fewer supplies than a longer trip to a remote area, where additional fuel, water, food, batteries, and emergency equipment may be important. Before leaving, checking your RV's tire condition, fluid levels, propane supply, electrical connections, and storage compartments can help you start the trip prepared and avoid discovering that an essential item was left behind.
