One of my long time customers has a mess of a day in Friday. Fuel gauge on the tractor was reading incorrectly, tractor ran outta fuel a mile from the house, got fuel then ran the battery down trying to get it restarted. I'm not sure what else happened but he didn't bring up the missing tractor door that was now on the ground so neither did I. We just did our thing to get him back up and running.

Before and after on another trailer rebuild. Nothing fancy on this one. Just fixing someone else's awesome idea. 🙄

This started out as a quick fender replacement for one of my customers. Then some upgrades happened.

1) Added a loading ramp with lift assist.
2) Portable receiver hitch mounted winch rewound with synthetic rope to shave weight. Added a power cable quick disconnect system that allows the winch to be used in any remote application. Powered from the towing vehicle or a stand alone battery.
3) Added trailer brakes along with new wiring front to rear.
4)Rebuilt the entire tongue of the trailer. You might remember the railroad spike I found. 🙄

Did my first set of disk brakes on a Kenworth. They should've came up with this a long time ago! The next generation of field mechanics are gonna have it so much easier. For those in the next generation let me give you a little bit of advice that made my business thrive. Make sure you learn the old school stuff and all the tricks that school won't show you. A young enthusiastic mechanic who can fix a struggling farmers tractor in the middle of a field during hay season will go much further in their career than any of these laptop mechanics.

Since trailer theft seems to be on the rise again we're offering these trailer wheel locks. They will be $20 for a standard size lock bar minus the lock. They can also be custom built to fit any application. They're designed around the #40 Master Lock but any padlock will work in its place.

I will include instructions in the comment section to ensure correct fit.

Came in for some hydraulic repairs but after pulling it in the shop I have a feeling me and this truck are gonna get to know eachother well. 😒
