Is DEF going away? Not yet, but a lot is changing. 🚛

Here’s what’s real right now:
🔹 EPA dropped the DEF quality sensor requirement in March 2026, and manufacturers can now use other methods.
🔹 EPA is working to end the severe DEF derates that leave trucks crawling at 5 mph.
🔹 The Diesel Truck Liberation Act (S. 3007 in the Senate, H.R. 8079 in the House) would stop the federal government from requiring emissions control devices and on-board diagnostics. It has NOT passed yet.

Bottom line: DEF and aftertreatment are still here for now, but Washington’s approach is shifting.
