With all of this crazy weather lately, we thought we'd share our best tips for driving in the rain.

Reduce your speed: When driving in the rain, it's crucial to adjust your speed accordingly. Wet roads can reduce traction and increase braking distances, making it important to slow down to maintain control of your vehicle. Reduce your speed and leave a safe distance between you and the vehicle ahead to allow for better reaction time.

Maintain proper tire tread and inflation: Adequate tire tread is essential for effective water displacement on wet roads. Check your tires regularly to ensure they have sufficient tread depth (at least 4/32 of an inch) to maintain traction. Additionally, proper tire inflation is crucial for optimal performance in wet conditions. Keep your tires inflated to the recommended pressure levels specified in your vehicle's manual.

Use your headlights and wipers: Turn on your headlights whenever driving in the rain, even during the daytime. This increases your visibility to other drivers and helps you see the road ahead more clearly. Additionally, ensure your windshield wipers are in good condition and replace them if necessary. Clear visibility is crucial in rainy conditions, so use your wipers appropriately to maintain a clear view of the road.

For over twenty years, we've been the Subaru go-to for the mountain area. Our look may have changed over the years, but our mission is still the same: we help Subaru owners keep their Subarus on the road without breaking the bank.
