🚗💨 North Carolina Just Changed the Window Tint Law!

(And it’s GREAT news for anyone with dark tint!)

Big update for NC drivers: Starting December 1st, 2025, window tint is NO LONGER part of your annual safety inspection. 🎉
That’s right — inspectors will not be using a tint meter or failing cars for dark tint anymore.

This change comes directly from Session Law 2025-47, which amended G.S. 20-183.3 and removed tinted-window checks from the NC safety inspection process.

That means:
🔹 No more failing inspection for dark tint
🔹 No more tint-testing fees
🔹 No more last-minute tint removals just to get your sticker

Tint laws still exist, and police can still cite illegal tint — but your yearly inspection is now tint-free. 🙌
