After nearly 20 weeks of training for an entire entirely new career - filled with long days, demanding schedules, countless hours are studying, and the feeling of being so close to finish while still having so much work ahead - moments of encouragement, means more than words can express.

Today, one of the recruits‘ children made uplifting cards and delicious cookies for both recruits and staff. Gestures like these serves as a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. They bring encouragement, motivation, and reinforces that our efforts truly matter.

With just five more weeks to go, Academy Class 42 has been hard at work applying the knowledge and skills they have learned. Last week, recruits were involved in pedestrian contact practical, learning how to control a scenario when in contact with pedestrians.

The first half of this week is focused on building searches, and practical application of firearm skills. Faced with different scenarios, recruits must utilize the skills they’ve learned this far to safely control the situation.
