Spring is in the air, Columbus! As those temperatures rise, there are a few things you should keep in mind for springtime auto maintenance - so that we can make sure no actual springs get sprung this year 😉
🌞 Check your filters: It's good practice to change your oil filter when you have your oil changed but your car has several filters you should be aware of. Don't forget to check your cabin air filter, engine air filter, and your fuel filter. Inspect each for damages or clogs, replacing them when necessary.
🌞 Check your belts & hoses: The Georgia weather can take a toll on rubber belts & hoses. Checking hoses for cracks, leaks, blisters, hardening or softening & making sure belts are not frayed, cracked, or loose, can prevent you from being stranded this Spring at just the wrong time. If you find that you need to replace belts, you may want to replace the tensioner & pulleys to keep your belt from slipping.
🌞Replace your wiper blades: Check each blade for tears & cracks & keep note of how well they perform when in use - with spring flowers comes spring showers & being proactive about your wipers can help.
🌞Test your battery: Nothing puts a damper on your next Spring adventure like a drained battery. Check for clean, tight connections that are free of corrosion & consider replacing your battery if it is more than 5 years old.
🌞Change your oil and check fluids: Top up your fluids to ensure your car is running at its best. You may also consider setting an inspection appointment w your mechanic because low fluid levels may indicate a leak and it's always best to catch these as soon as possible.
