Before gas stations, you bought fuel at the PHARMACY. In cans. Like cough syrup for your car 😂

Then 1905: a company in St. Louis bolted a tank to a shed, stuck a garden hose on it, and called it a filling station. Gravity did the pumping.

1913: Gulf built the first real drive-in station in Pittsburgh — brick building, free air and water, and they handed out the first road maps ever. Day one sales? 30 gallons. Total: $8.10.
