I’m not bashing anyone’s work, lord knows I’ve made my mistakes over the past years. It’s a learning process that changes daily. We learn a new process or product daily. We try to utilize these ways to better ourselves, therefore giving you a better product in the end.
Customer brought this one in due to a small collision on the front bumper. It had a previous repair by another shop (no idea who, irrelevant) These and most newer OEM bumpers are raw plastic (no primer) and have to be prepped a certain way or the finish will fail every time. No adhesion due to the oils in the plastics. It’s gonna take us extra labor to strip this one, but, I know our work is correct, if it fails, it’s on us. No guess work if the rest of the paint will stick or not a year from now.
Moral of the story, be diligent on what shops you pick, ask questions, most reputable shops will tell you the steps on your repairs. Never just use who the insurance tells you to, your car, your choice!!!
Always ask about a warranty!!!! Myself and a couple other shops in the county will always go out of our way to make sure you are certain that you are getting a QUALITY repair, a SAFE repair, and give you a WARRANTY!!!! We want you to be a return customer, as well as give a good recommendation to someone else.
This post is in no way bashing anyone, I just wanted to make customers and future customers aware, cheaper isn’t always good, there are a few of us that make sure you get your hard earned money’s worth!!!
We have a great relationship with surrounding shops, I never consider them “competition”, we both know if one needs something, we are always ready and willing to help each other! I wish more businesses had the same mindset. I love our small town and the people in it, without most of them, I wouldn’t be where I am today!
Sorry for the long post, just something been on my mind lately. I hear “so n so is cheaper” all the time, skipping on a dollar usually always cost more in the end.
