As a child, Ed spent his days watching his father work on his friend's cars in the backyard in his spare time. It was during this time that Ed developed his love for automobiles, and learned how the right care and knowledge could extend the life and performance of any car or truck. When Ed was in high school, he took classes in automotive technology and followed in his father's footsteps and began
working on his own friend's cars. He began working as an engineer at a local electronics company where he helped design and build wiring harnesses for automobiles. His first love for the automotive service industry finally took over and he went to work for Autozone as a commercial accounts manager. He worked with auto repair facilities and learned what it took to be a successful auto technician. He attended every advanced training class he could and learned how to use computer based diagnostic tools to enhance his deep knowledge of automobile engines and computer controls. Although Ed was learning the most advanced techniques in auto repair, he never forgot the lessons he learned from his father all those years ago. Ed never forgot the gratitude of those his father helped. He never forgot the warm feeling he felt every time his father would successfully repair and deliver a vehicle to someone and the smile on their face as they drove away. Ed was determined to honor his father by providing automotive services that would truly offer a value to the community. He promised himself to always provide value and outstanding service, regardless of how small or how large his business grew. Ed also realized that the automotive service industry was fast becoming highly technical, and that the traditional auto mechanic would not be very successful in this industry much longer. A new breed of auto technician would be needed. He used his knowlege and training and took it to the classroom where he began teaching automotive technology in the same school he attended. While running his own business, he continues to share his knowlege and expertise with high school students at Heyward Career and Technology Center.
