We were sorry to hear about the passing of this guy. Joe was a loving, giving, and kind man. We would enjoy the times he would come into the station. Joe and Cindy had fun playing jokes on one another.
Our deepest condolences to the Machens family. Obituary for Joseph Henry Machens, Jr. https://www.columbiatribune.com/obituaries/pclm1563065

🍂🚗 COOLER WEATHER IS COMING! DON’T LET RODENTS MOVE INTO YOUR VEHICLE! 🐭🐿️
As temperatures begin to drop, mice and squirrels start looking for a warm, cozy place to call home. Unfortunately, your vehicle may be just what they’re looking for!
Your cabin air filter is a favorite nesting spot, and those wires under the hood? They can become an expensive snack!
💰 Rodents can cause THOUSANDS of dollars in damage to your vehicle!
Here’s a little tip from our 25 years in the automotive business:
Rodents tend to dislike the smell of peppermint. We’ve purchased a non-toxic rodent deterrent from Menards to help protect our own vehicles.
We place it in appropriate areas, such as the trunk and designated spots under the hood. Always follow the product’s directions and keep it away from hot or moving engine parts. Never place loose products directly inside your cabin air filter.
Peppermint products aren't foolproof, but they may be one part of a rodent-prevention plan. Check for nesting materials, keep food out of your vehicle, and inspect under the hood regularly.
🐭 A little prevention today could save you a BIG repair bill tomorrow!
Stay warm, keep those critters out, and protect your investment!
