A few years ago I had a conversation with Dan Parmley Jr about rebuilding carburetors for the M151 series. After much time and effort I have worked out a rebuild/overhaul process that I am happy with. Unlike a simple mechanical rebuild my process is a complete reset that delivers a carburetor that has the correct factory finish, new fasteners, US made rebuild kit, zinc plated and dichromated linkage and shafts. Each carburetor is individually serial numbered and is videoed during the run test. Paperwork included will have each carburetors measurements listed against the gov. specifications as well as the Zenith rebuild kit proof of purchase, gasket and some basic engine tips.

I have been working on some Zenith carburetors for the M151 series. These are being rebuilt and will be headed to the MVPA convention. This will mark the official roll out of the carburetor rebuild service now offered by Tactical Truck Works.

Just tested out the new V***r Hone on a carb body today. Carb was straight off the shelf with no prep or pre-clean. This was just a quick blast.

The Pexto metal forming table I found from beginning to end. I am very happy to add this beauty to the shop. The company that made the wooden top went out of business in the late 1960’s. I love the quality and duribility of older tools. This table will see a lot of use in the shop very soon.

Christmas came a little early. Santa dropped off a new V***r Honing Technologies Weekend Warrior V***r Hone. Beginning in February 2024 I will begin offering rebuild services for the Zenith carburetors found on the M151 series. The v***r hone will enable me to provide a superior surface finish on the carburator body. This will pair very well with the mechanical work I perform on the carburetors. My carburetors are test run and tuned to provide the best performance available.

Happy December!
With a new year just around the corner I have decided to make some changes to M151 Tactical Truck Parts and Restoration.
1). Effective immediately, I will no longer take phone or video chat calls about vehicle trouble shooting or repairs without an appointment. Additionally, I will charge $100/hr with a 30 minute minimum and billed at 15 minute intervals thereafter for all such calls/chats. Although this is a hobby for most it is my full time job. While I would love to keep providing this service for free it is taking away personal time as well as time from paying clients. If there are issues with a part I have sold or service I have performed all discussions about said part or service are excluded from any charges.
2). I am gradually moving away from part sales to focus more on restoration of individual components as well as specializing in body restoration and metal work for the M151 series of vehicles. I have invested time and equipment to allow me to accurately repair and restore the unique body of the M151. I also have the ability to fabricate body, subframe and other components that are not currently available.
3). I plan on featuring customer vehicles in upcoming posts. I am also looking into making some videos of the fabrication and repair process.

I was lucky to find this metal forming table close to home. It has a 2-1/4” rock maple top with a Pexto stake plate inset into the top. The edges of the top have 2”x2” angle iron inset to provide protection and a sharp 90 degree edge to use for forming. The Pexto 982 stake plate provides square tapered sockets that are used to hold stake anvils, forming bars and other tools. The plates are fairly rare as are the table plate combinations. It will add some additional capabilities and convenience to forming specialty pieces at the shop. It’s a bit dirty but I am cleaning it up

Patch panel fit up on the M38a1 tub. It will get tack welded in place tomorrow
