Jeep owners — an important safety notice.

Stellantis/Jeep has issued a recall affecting certain vehicles due to a potential fire risk. In some cases, owners are being advised to park their vehicles outside and away from structures until the issue is repaired.

If you drive a Jeep or Stellantis vehicle, it’s a good idea to check your VIN to see if you are affected. You can look up open recalls here:
https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls

Even if your vehicle is driving normally, recalls like this are worth taking seriously since safety issues don’t always show immediate symptoms.

If you’re unsure what you’re seeing, hearing, or feeling in your vehicle, LugsNPlugs Automotive is always happy to take a look and help you sort it out.

Use our VIN lookup tool to check for recalls on your car, or search by make and model. Our databases also list car seats, tires, and equipment recalled for unreasonable safety risk or failing to meet minimum safety standards.

Honda owners, have you checked your recalls lately?

Honda recently announced a recall affecting more than 880,000 vehicles due to a rear suspension issue that could impact vehicle handling. Certain Honda Pilots, Passports, Ridgelines, and Acura MDXs are included in the recall. Dealers will inspect and repair affected vehicles at no cost to owners.

If you want to check whether your vehicle is affected, you can look it up by VIN here:
https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls

Even if your vehicle seems to be driving normally, it’s still worth checking. Some suspension issues can develop gradually and show up as clunking noises, uneven tire wear, or changes in handling.

If you’re unsure what you’re feeling or hearing, we’re always happy to take a look and help you sort it out.

“That’s deece.”

That’s what you’ll hear in the shop when something checks out… and that came up today on a truck we had in.

Driver side wheel bearing? Not deece.
Passenger side? Honestly… still deece.

But here’s where things get interesting

When one wheel bearing fails, the other one has usually lived the same life—same miles, same roads, same conditions. Even if it hasn’t failed yet, it’s often not far behind.

That’s why you’ll hear us recommend doing them in pairs.

Not because we’re trying to “add more,” but because it helps you avoid:
• paying labor twice
• being back in the shop a few weeks/months later
• uneven wear or noise issues side-to-side

Sometimes the other side really is still good—and we’ll tell you that.

But sometimes it’s just… deece for now.

It’s been a quieter week around the Springs, which means we’ve got a little extra time to take a proper look if your car’s been making noise or feeling off.

This is what happens when an inner CV boot tears and goes unnoticed.

That boot’s only job is to keep grease in and dirt out of the CV joint. Once it splits, grease gets slung everywhere and contamination starts working its way into the joint. From there, the wear is already happening.

By the time it looks like this, it’s not a boot job.

At our shop, we don’t replace torn boots. If the boot has failed, the axle has already been compromised — and replacing just the boot doesn’t fix the damage inside the joint.

What to watch for:
• Grease flung around the suspension or frame
• Clicking noise when turning
• Vibration during acceleration

Catching it early can save you from a much bigger repair.

If you ever see grease like this under your vehicle, have it checked sooner rather than later.

Why Your Vehicle Isn’t Always Done Same-Day

This week was a good reminder of something most people don’t see behind the scenes.

We had multiple vehicles here ready to go…
but stuck waiting on parts.

Not because anything went wrong—
but because doing the job right sometimes takes a little longer.

Modern vehicles (especially European and performance vehicles) often require:

🔧 Specific parts
🔧 VIN-matched components
🔧 Higher quality parts that aren’t always sitting on a shelf locally

We get it—waiting on your vehicle is frustrating.

But rushing it just to get it out the door usually means:

❌ Using whatever parts are available
❌ Skipping proper verification
❌ Hoping the fix works instead of knowing it does

That’s not how we operate.

We take the time to:

✔️ Use the correct parts
✔️ Verify the repair
✔️ Make sure the issue is actually resolved

Because doing it right once is always better than doing it twice.

If you ever have questions about timing, parts, or what’s going on with your vehicle, we’re always happy to walk you through it
