I recently fielded a question from a customer about the ethanol that they mix with our gas.

They said, "everybody used to talk about the ethanol mixed gas we get, but it doesn't cause problems anymore, does it?"

Sadly, it is still a problem. The ethanol in our gas dries out rubber o-rings, seals and gaskets and helps corrosion develop in our fuel systems.

The problem now is we can't avoid using it, while you used to find some stations that didn't have it, that time is long since past.

So, the question becomes, "what can we do?"

We can't avoid the damage it causes, but keeping fresh fuel in the tank and keeping the tank full will certainly help. Bikes with a carb will need it rebuilt more often than in the past, fuel injected bikes may have more injector problems than they would have.

A top quality fuel additive like BG's 44k is a great choice to help reduce the problems. It will help carb and fuel injected bikes alike, reducing the corrosion, keeping fuel passages cleaner in the carb or injectors.

Long story short...
Is it a problem? Yes!
Can we avoid it? No!
Can we reduce it's impact? Yes!

Call today if you wonder if additives may help your bike!

Riding defensively is the best way to protect yourself while on the road. Cars don't always look for you, so you need to look for them. Slow down when coming to an intersection, make eye contact with people waiting to turn in front of you. Use your horn to get their attention, if necessary. Don't ride in someones blind spot.

Be safe out there, we love our riding family!

Did you know the most overlooked item when getting your motorcycle ready for spring riding is your tire air pressure?

With only two tires on the road each of them are important, Check your tires pressure and condition before your spring rides and often through the riding season!
