After taking some time to process this race weekend all I can think is, WOW! After having some great heat races on Saturday, Sunday I got fourth in my Yamaha Heavy 1 final, crashed out of my Yamaha Medium final and got second in Yamaha Heavy 2. Not only am I happy with my finishes but I am so grateful for the support I had at the track this weekend. My dad was my right hand man and thank you GP Automotive for the sponsorship and providing your top mechanic. Thank you Pat Fennelly my personal driving coach for teaching me the three words of racing "Don't Look Back". I wouldn't have been able to compete in my final race if it weren't for Joe Quinn, Jim Walker and Danny Crouse working hard to fix my kart after the crash in my second race. A special thanks to my mom I know how much the Grand Prix can make her nervous but she always comes to support me and her presence doesn't go unnoticed. My sister Amanda for cheering and making runs for me when I needed ice and food. I was lucky to be surrounded by so many family and friends who were able to come to the races and even friends who were watching live online from far away. I can't say thank you enough! One final thank you to the Rock Island Grand Prix for another great year!
Also I was interviewed by WQAD here's a link to the news story: http://wqad.com/2016/09/03/worlds-largest-karting-street-race-held-in-rock-island-this-weekend/
