Customer brought in his recently purchased 1990 BMW M3 EVO III to be gone through to ensure he'd have some success as he's registered for the concourse at the legend of the autobahn on the Monterey peninsula. He recently purchased the car with 29,000 documented original miles from France for 200k. He said he literally badgered the owner for 16 years to get the car, which he purchased in France finally consummating a deal. This car is just incredible to drive. The balance and finesse are amazing. There are like 35 detail changes from the M division from an EVO II. I know the customer wants to maintain his originality, but I would love to perk this little baby up to 300 horsepower at the rear wheels. It would then be a SCREAM!! I wish him the best of luck and a fully enjoyed weekend on the peninsula. I hope to run into him at the historics, BMW baby!!!

During our days of scheduled maintenance and car repair, we look forward to our one or two long term projects that brings us a lot of challenges and joys.
"Chomping at the bit" the Juicy Lucy story. We started the Lucy build 12 years ago, a complete build stripped to bare metal, restored and fabricated for our client to take part in some of California's vintage car rallies. Two years ago, his BMW S38 engine failed, a oddity that a windage tray broke in the oil sump which diminished oil pressure, basically the motor was scrap. The motor which is the street version that hailed from the E34 Chassis BMW 91-95 M5, this is a motor that was raced extensively in the 70's, and held track records in Europe that stood for 22 years. Our client commissioned a race replica rebuild by VAC Motor Sports and Philly, Pennsylvania. This is a $30,000 engine that is fitted with a forged stroker crank shaft, arrow connecting rod, custom made forged pistons with a prescribed compression ratio suitable for California 91 Octane pump gas. It has a bench flowed cylinder head, special cams and hardware which should insure some tasty dyno numbers. We are on the last steps before completing the project, we are currently waiting for line board oversized throttle bodies from VAC, along with a custom made aircraft quality wiring harness and a Motec induction and ignition systems. We are so excited for our client and look forward to a summer of him rallying in California's foothills. Next project up!
