Training for the National Automotive Technology Competition has begun. The West Delaware Auto Skills team of Jacob Kaiser and Dakota spent Saturday morning at Riley Mazda with technician Josh Fee learning about the CX-3 and how to navigate the Mazda service information and scan tool. Special thanks to all the people at Riley Mazda for being such a great company to work with!

Santa is sending his reminder that he and Mrs. Claus will be at Coggon's Firehouse 19 on SUNDAY, December 16, at 3:00 p.m. They will be bringing goodies for all of the children. House 19 firefighters will have hot chocolate, coffee, and popcorn for everyone to enjoy. They will also have a table set up with pencils and paper for kids to make their Christmas list and put it in the letter box to the North Pole. Santa's elves will then be able to get everything ready for Santa on the big day! Family, friends, grandparents, you are all invited to come and see the children's excitement and enjoy the afternoon.

This post is on behalf of Coggon Fire and Rescue Association.

First response Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is provided to our community by our fire department. Because our transport ambulance service come the distance from Center Point in Linn County and Manchester in Delaware County, it makes the service we provide essential. Our department currently has 5 EMS certified responders on staff that lives in the community. There are 3 additional personnel who are willing to give of their time to get certified and join the EMS team and 1 who wants to step up from EMR to EMT. More certified responders will be an asset to the community. An EMT class will be starting in about a month in Monticello, through Kirkwood Community College. There is one problem. EMT certification is expensive. It will cost over six thousand dollars for our members to take the certification class. This is not an amount that our association has and it is not in the fire department’s city or rural budgets.
WE NEED YOUR HELP. The purpose of our firefighter’s association is to raise funds for special needs in equipment or training for the fire department and to help our firefighters. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization. This means that donations are tax deductible. As an association we are raising funds to help with this challenge.
