Brevard Zoo is one of those places that locals love and visitors absolutely fall in love with - and it's less than 30 minutes from Sonrise Palms.

Brevard Zoo in Viera is an internationally accredited facility and genuinely one of the best family experiences on the Space Coast. If you haven't wandered through Historic Cocoa Village on a Saturday morning, it needs to move to the top of your to-do list.

The Cocoa Village Saturday Art Market takes place every Saturday from 11 AM to 5 PM at Myrt Tharpe Square, 12 Stone Street, in the heart of Historic Cocoa Village. The market is organized by the Green Circle Art Gallery and features local artists displaying and selling original work - paintings, photography, sculpture, jewelry, and more. Admission is free, and parking is free in the surrounding public lots.

After the market, the Village itself is worth exploring. It's full of independent boutiques, galleries, local restaurants, and the kind of slow-down-and-breathe energy that feels like a vacation within a vacation. The Cocoa Riverfront Park is right there on the Indian River Lagoon - grab a bench, watch the boats go by, and take your time.

RVing in Florida in July is absolutely amazing - IF you know a few tricks. We've been hosting guests on the Space Coast long enough to know what works, and we're sharing our best hot-weather RV tips today.

Here are our top five ways to stay cool and comfortable this summer in your RV:

Park strategically. At Sonrise Palms, we have shade and mature trees throughout the resort. Choose your site wisely - east-facing in the morning and shaded by afternoon makes a big difference. Subject to availability.

Run your AC smart. Pre-cool your rig before the heat of the day hits (usually 11 AM - 4 PM). Close your blinds on the sunny side.

Get outside early and late. Florida mornings before 9 AM and evenings after 6 PM are genuinely beautiful. That's when locals live their lives outdoors - and you should too.

Hydrate more than you think you need to. The heat and humidity here is real. Keep a water bottle attached to your hip.

America's 250th birthday party kicks off early right here on the Space Coast - and the City of Cocoa Beach is doing it in spectacular fashion.

On Friday, July 3, Downtown Cocoa Beach is hosting the America's 250 Celebration and Drone Show at Centennial Square (2 S. Orlando Ave., Cocoa Beach). The event runs from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM EDT, and the drone show launches at 9:00 PM. Hundreds of drones will light up the night sky in a choreographed performance synchronized to music, marking America's 250th anniversary. The evening also includes live music from Tidal Theory, carnival midway games, a Kid Zone, a photo booth, and food vendors.
