Hey there, McElroy Auto Repair family! ❄️ Winter's knocking on the door, and it's time to show your ride some love so you don't end up stuck in the snow or spinning your wheels on the ice. We're all out of cab over tractor mods however...

Let's break down some winterizing tips for your vehicle. 👇

1️⃣ **Antifreeze**: Don't let your car's insides freeze up! Check your antifreeze levels and aim for a 50/50 mix with water for optimal performance. Check the label for your blend...Too little antifreeze? Your engine could freeze. Too much? Your cooling system won't work as efficiently.

2️⃣ **Windshield Washer Fluid**: Go for a washer fluid that's made for freezing temps. Trust me, you don't want to find out your fluid is frozen when you're trying to clear a snowy windshield while driving.

3️⃣ **Radiator**: If your radiator has seen better days, now might be the time for a flush and refill. Cold temps can put stress on an already weak system. Consider a radiator cover if you're in super chilly spots; it helps maintain optimal engine temps.

4️⃣ **Battery Check**: A sluggish battery is the last thing you want on a cold morning. If your battery is more than 3 years old, it might be time for a check-up. A simple voltage test can give you the peace of mind you need.

❌ **Everything But Winter Tires**: We get it, winter tires can be pricey. But that doesn't mean you should skip out on checking tire pressure and tread depth. Plus, keep an emergency kit in your trunk—things like blankets, snacks, and a first-aid kit can go a long way. We don't mount and balance snow tires, but we can refer you to good people near you that do.
